IMO Microsoft didn't miss the boat with console MMOs for a couple of reason already stated. (WilliamRLBaker) Also, just look at a game like WOW, from what I can discern from the late game raids and such (have only played at a friends house to about lvl 5) is that you need total control on your controls which can get complex. And you won't reach that level of play with a normal controller.

Uh, yeah, I think you might have a little trouble making a perfect glitch-free lag-free game too, if you had a userbase of millions swarming on it and playing it obsessively from day one, with many of them actively trying to find glitches to exploit right off the bat....

And no, BC2 has not been lag-free or glitch-free. Far from it.

finalstar2007

I mean it cant be that hard, their swimming with money right now, is it hard to fix these issues quickly? :( .. i still cant get why their not using dedicated servers for the consoles :( .. sigh.. as for BC2 dont know i could be wrong, i only played that game for like a week, its fun and didnt face any lags during the time i played it

Do you really think it's easy to make changes to a game and fix problems? Playing with the code is very dangerous, even if a small change was made, it has to be tested to make sure it doesn't break another part of the game. And even then, a company can never be 100% sure that changing the code didn't produce a game breaking glitch hidden deep in the game that will be found by some gamer doing random stuff.

Not at all. The reason people don't like COD coming out once a year is because there's been no fundamental changes to the formula since CoD4 (but even then, it still resembles Call of Dut 2 more or less).

We complain most about development time. Naturally, it takes time to create and innovate. But if they could release episodic content at a regular basis for a regular price and the game is just as good or better than the first entry into the series, I don't see why not. When I finish a game (in the rare instance that I do) there's nothing I want more than to wait for the next game. Anything to speed up that wait.

but why would the fundamentally change a game that million love. have you ever heard the phrase 'if its not brokem you don't fix it'

While partly true, a game developper that doesn't change a thing in a sequel isn't good, even if it ain't broke. They should at least try to upgrade some points, perfect the balance (mutliplayer), add more polish and possibly dwelve deeper into the characters.

I bought all the DLC for Mass Effect(they were at a discount), Halo 2 and Halo3. For some other games I've bought some DLC but not all would be Mass Effect 2 and Fallout 3

Imagine a game like MAG where one side is the Lems and the other side Cows. That would be fun but I don't think this will ever happen. And to everyone saying competition is better, I'm sure the OP doesn't want the PS3 and 360 to fuse and be only one console, but would love for some multiplayer multiplats to have joined servers or P2P matchmaking.

[QUOTE="wizardwd"]If I were you i would wait until early 2011 to make you're choice. The Nintendo 3DS hits NA next year and the games that are coming out for it seem great. Also, even if you don't want the 3DS, the launch of this new system will probably mean ether an official price drop on the DS, or stores giving you great deals to clear stock to put the 3DS on shelves. As for PSP, rumors of the PSP2 are brewing so again, the wait game is on. Also, it all depends on the games you want.GraveDigger571

What's the difference in games?

Both systems have great libraries. What you have to do is decide what you want. What's the genre you really love, is it RPGs, puzzle games, platformers, etc.

From what I've seen and read, the PSP's gameplay ressembles it's big brother's type of games such as : MGS: Peace Walker, Burnout Revenge, Wipeout Pure, SOCOM and God of War: Chains of Olympus.

As for the DS, it's big force is rallied under 3 main types of games: Puzzle, Adventure, RPG. From new IPs such as TWEWY, Elite Beat Agents and Picross 3D, to sequels of great series such as Pokemon, Professor Layton and Dragon Quest IX, and to remakes of great games like Chrono Trigger, you can't go wrong.

Also, you should consider looking at what are the upcoming games that interest you the most and then decide which system is best suited for you. And don't forget that scores aren't everything, its the experience that counts.

Small disclaimer, I do in fact on a DS and not a PSP.
