@demonkingx5 There may be a bit of truth to this, really hard to tell. One way or another, it's a large company backing the industry. How much influence they have over the corporate world though, I am not sure, it's not my medium.
In most video games, with violence, there is a message. Typically it's not "Kill Kill Kill" It's usually about saving someone, something, or standing up for values, principles and what's right. We can thank the U.S. Government for trying to take those messages away.
@risako9 The only real reason to care about console hardware is that it means pcs can reach a new level as well. Since we're stuck at a place where consoles dominate gfx engines are not going to be designed for pc only. Which means that pc gamers have to wait until consoles get an upgrade to see the effects of their hardware really come in to play.
@faycerol3media I agree to a point, however I am a tech junkie, I just don't think that game devs should be. I think a lot of games are limited by their new FX and less by their story and play. I still prefer Baldurs gate and Planescape torment over a ton of newly released games.
@07wintert Many CPU's will shut the extra cores off if they are not used. I am using an 8 core cpu from AMD as we speak. Grant it most games only use about 2% of my total cpu power, it is also a 3.2 ghz and not a 1.8
The way you talk about it I am not sure you understand how cores are actually used though. No offense intended.
@Smithfamily363 @outlawst With how slowly consoles upgrade I have 2 year old hardware (Dinosaur in my book) and it still runs every game on the market at 60fps on highest settings. Upgrading my pc is better than Christmas for me. When I have the money and I really want to get a new piece of hardware I do, I am always happy upgrading as well.
@jagcivtec @TheBigChewbacca @meankilleR My "More expensive than a console" pc is used for a lot more than gaming as well. Maybe it's not the case with everyone but I do just about everything on my PC.
However this isn't meant to be a console vs pc war, considering that's all opinionated anyway.
Of course, as far as gaming does go, we have free to play games consoles don't, maybe that's not your thing. Pc games have user mods, maybe that's not your thing. Pc games have a much larger indie community, but maybe that's not your thing. Pc games have better graphics at typically higher fps, but maybe that's not your thing. I mean, if you're ok with a console and losing out of a more unlimited world of gaming because pc's cost more then go for it.
Then again I am always excited when a new console gets released so that my pc can have a challenge for the current graphics capabilities.
