This thread or a bump for the old one was needed as Ubisoft is a disgrace to the very hands that feed them. I personally stopped buying Ubisoft games as thats the only way they will listen to us gamers.

I tell you, give them a kick in the pants. Forego all Ubisoft games until they realize its not pirates that is the big problem. Its the publisher treating customers as pirates.

Don't support them with your money. They will be forced to listen to the consumer then. And after that we can return to buying GAMES, and not some hash that has the primary purpose of DRM first and a game thrown in secondary. DRM can make a game frustrating for no apparent reason. Ubisoft's theory of piracy has got to go!

I live near Akron Ohio where the guy and kid recently killed several people not to mention I know of at least 2 robberies so far this year with Craigslist meetings in my area.AutoPilotOn

Same kind of craziness can happen with the newspaper classifieds or the local rag, pennysaver. Please don't implicate Craigslist.

Sure you gotta be safe but that has nothing to do with the source doing free advertising.

I wonder if you can't go out some Saturdays to some garage sales. Ask for a demo by bringing your own game.

Here are the things you want to check

1) Funny sounds when loading / unloading the disc and reading the game. Look for [Unreadable disc] error.

2)Try out Xbox live. Create the guest account and make sure the xbox isn't one of those that got permabanned.

3) Take the faceplate off. Make sure there is an intact manufaturers seal.

4) Sellers should be motivated to show you that everything is on the up and up. Try to pick up on obvious seller reaction indicating he is deceiving you. You know if he says "trust me" no need to try it out while not being able to look you in the eye, its one red flag against him or her. In general if he's acting nervous, somethings wrong with what he's selling and you need to bug out.

If you would rather not risk such precautions, you might just as well buy used from Gamestop. They guarantee it works. (Still unbox it in the store and have them plug it in) make their greedy business model work for the sale.

Here you go. :) I already got live a few weeks ago on sale at amazon, but thanks for the heads up anyways. Good to see people looking out for each other! :D

EDIT: Okay, gamespot won't let us manually link now. :(

RoslindaleOne

I feel better that its not just my carelesscopy paste skils that make this link so hard to link.

[QUOTE="Peanut04_basic"]That is a pretty good deal. I just hope I can make it to the city this week. I can't really justify spending nearly $20 in gas just for $20 off and Xbox live card, lol. Does anyone know if BestBuy runs deals like that pretty frequently?xAgentXBC

Just for you, I learned how to around Gamespots broken link tool.

Follow this link, put it in your cart and they will email you the code. On the console go to manage codes and put in the numbers carefully from Best Buy's email. You don't have to drive to the store to get the discount, unless they sell out. Ha ha, I've seen them sell out of downloadable codes, in case you wonder.

I've learned nothing, phfft!

Sorry guys. Copy paste.

They might as well start charging by the play session then.

Also OP, GlitchSpot's link button hasn't worked in forever, but you can insert the link manually with HTML tags *type something clever here* (don't use the * symbols :P)

Cwagmire21

Cat's out of the bag now! That's all we need, just like old times, have to insert 4 quarters into your pc for new lives. Just wait till developers figure out how to get to your deposited quarters.

But as far as Ubisoft?

I speak with my wallet now. Ubisoft gets no money from me. Possible sales included Hawx2, Silent Hunter 5, Assasin's Creed, Heroes of Mightand Magic VI and others. These two videos pretty much sum up Ubisoft in my eyes.

[QUOTE="tjricardo089"]

What?

Witchsight

The Xbox Live Gold Membership (1 Year Card) is on sale this week ...

Thanks for the heads up, OP.

It still says a bunch of tower defence games are the deal of the week for me.

http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Promotion/dealoftheweek

Also kind of funny, i was thinking this would be perfect for my friend who doesnt have Gold yet. But he cant get it, because he doesnt have Gold. :?

Sorry about being unclear. Some folk don't like to pay the full Xbox live subscription fee. They often get around this by waiting for a sale. This week, for Americans at least, the sale is now. You can go to a Best Buy retail store and pick up the Xbox live card, or if you like to shop online, Buy.com has a similarly priced card.

This post is just a heads up post because so many Xbox gamers come here. I tried to link the deals but Gamespot does not allow such links. Sorry about that.

Of particular note: You can go to Bestbuy.com, the American electronics retailer, and get the code emailed to you after purchase. You don't even have to go into the store. Look for that special version using the typical search function from the Best Buy website. They are not the same card that they mail to you in the mail, like the one available at Buy.com

--

Lastly, in response to Witchsight, these are completely different from the subscription service that Xbox live offers through your console. I don't recommend giving microsoft your credit card info. Billing errors can result in a nightmare, and you can never take back your credit card info once you provide it. Paying for cards, then entering codes into the Xbox protects you from Microsofts inadequate customer service, especially when it comes to accounts that have been hijacked, or otherwise compromised (little Johnny, the neighborhood kid, came over and bought 20k microsoft points on my son's Xbox live without me authorizing it, ha ha ha!).

FYI...

--

Best Buy has the retail Xbox Live 12 month subscription cards $20.00 off. Normally $60.00. (Digital Download Version. It's on sale as well.)

Online, Buy.com (not to be confused with Best Buy) has the same retail card for $37.00, tax free in many states.

These cards stack onto your current subscription, you won't lose time by adding the code on top of your current subsciption.

Help...

I played ME1 but after about 6 planets, I stopped playing. Too much reading and essentially became repetitive play. Can someone tell me how or if ME2 would be better than ME1 for me. ME2 is usually on sale for less than $20 dollars.

--

I got Alan Wake for my daughter and watched her play. From what I saw, it's not my style of game. I like shooters (Halo, GOW). I guess what I like best are Wing Commander style games where the main action is shooting other space ships. Don't know about the Xbox games like that. I also liked Balder's Gate from the original Xbox.

The 360 has been out for years now. Maybe I missed a game that I should try out that's now selling cheap. What would you recommend?
