I've read the giver, but I didn't know it had sequels. I really liked the book, even though it was a bit weird. It has been like 4 or 5 years since I read it, maybe I'll read it again someday.
That I've sold / traded in probably 100+ games and plenty of consoles over the years. I will never forgive myself for it either. I could have a decent sized collection if I wasn't so stupid as a kid. I sold a NES, SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, N64, Playstation, a couple versions of the Game Boy, a Game Gear, and a Xbox. Thank god I stopped trading in games and systems. Now I am about to rebuy a SNES for the THIRD time. Atleast this time I know I will never get rid of it. Just typing this out is making me sad and a little bit angry...
As long as people buy them and they make money, Nintendo will keep coming out with more of them. I don't mind that there are a lot of Mario games out. I usually just buy the platforming games and the Mario kart games. If they don't interest you, just don't buy them. No big deal really.
The game that has taken the biggest chunk out of my life is America's Army. I've been playing it for 3-4 years and have only taken two breaks away from the game. I have easily spent 2500 - 3000 hours playing online with friends, and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. :P
