Earlier in the year my slim broke. My friend happened to have a phat that he has had ever since launch and sold it to me for $10. Needless to say the slim fails compared to the older model...lol. Anyway, it was pretty much the best $10 ever spent.

I would wait cause this is probably what im doing. I have a working DS now so I'll be fine. An extra inch on the screen is awesome IMO. To the person who asked who wanted a bigger handheld, I do. I play my DS at home most of the time anyway just like other consoles.

From what I've read out of the last few posts, sounds like FFTA2 is your better bet. That's the one that I'd get if I had to pick one of the two.

I haven't played Disgaea but I own FFTA2 and it is great if you like SRPGs.
