I get occasional RROD now, sometimes I do sometimes I don't. My question is, how can they tell if YOU DO INDEED have it. I got RROD this morning, but now it's fine. Then a minute ago it won't turn on at all, only the controller. Will I still be covered? The box is on its way here since I called when I couldn't deal with it anymore.

SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!! arrggg, right before new years, i called xbox and told them about my situation and i added that i got occasional red rings and they said they're sending a box for me to mail it to them with the 3 year free warranty thing.

As for me, it says 'unplayable disc' and it makes grinding noises wen i put discs in. your best bet is to call them.

Which do you prefer, I'm debating on which to get.
