@gameroutlawzz @xeoneex66 @GuillermoJP Ah, such a childish response. Uh no actually thats not it at all. I tried the latest Super Mario Brothers 1000 whatever, and its pretty much similar to mario 1-4. I mean I could plug my old SNES in and play Super Mario World and have 3x the enjoyment and not run out spending $300 on a Pii-U and that mario game. So ya no. Troll please do us a favor... GET THE **** BACK UNDER YOUR BRIDGE. Thank you very much.
@GuillermoJP @xeoneex66 Ok ok I will give you that. Well Ironically I never really played Yoshi's Island. So I can't really say how good those were. I've tried the SNES version but never got far. I'm just sick of Nintendo lately :/ And it upsets me as I cherished them as a child. I loved mario and whatnot and always thought they would make great Mario games, but it seems after SM 64 it was just downhill. Well OK Galaxy wasn't THAT bad. I played a little bit of galaxy 1 when my brother still had it. I never saw 2 so no comment. But I have tried a few of the other ones and I can honestly say they are garbage. Same with Zelda. I wish they could try a whole new IP or something but they are so taken with Mario/Zelda it's sad really. Hell I would almost say a new Metroid, but they'd probably **** it up so let it sleep I say.
@cory_vet_gamer @xeoneex66 Nah I haven't owned a ps1-2 in like 10 years, been a LONG time. They were good games for their time but some of those old ps 1-2 games I couldn't play them today. I tried before and I just coudln't. Ive been spoiled on todays graphics :/.
@cory_vet_gamer @xeoneex66 Well I never owned it. I lived with a roommate who had a japanese import dreamcast and the import japanese version of the game. Sadly nostalgia is all there is to fall back on in this crummy age of gaming. While there ARE good games here and there, the majority of the gaming industry is about nickle and diming people, making bad games, horrible design decisions, and just stupidity in general. I for one am looking forward to the next big game crash simply so it can start itself anew like the crash of 83. The Indie devs will rise, and the cycle will start ALL over again.
@cory_vet_gamer @xeoneex66 Ah Parasite Eve, now there is a game I loved to play. Was so long ago I don't remember much about it but I do remember enjoying it immensely. When I think back on those kinds of days I get sad as they are gone, and cannot be like that now adays. But we do have Indie devs and some of the games i've played have definatly brought back that nostalgic feeling I long for.
@cory_vet_gamer @xeoneex66 Crapcom even had a Mega Man MMO in the works that got shit canned as well. Anyway you can understand my frustrations at least :P.
I have to say though The fake RE 4 was actually pretty fun, though I played the Japanese import which was all in japanese so I couldn't really read anything, but still managed to beat it. Was YEARS ago though I don't even remember much about that game. And the reason I say fake RE4 cuase it was called RE 4 Code Veronica which was I guess a spineoff? That game was fun that I can remember. Oh well gaming is going in a different direction that I care for it to :/
@cory_vet_gamer @xeoneex66 Well the thing is, the review I read from Spoony (Noah Antwiler) pretty much summed the entire game. He did a 5some part review of the it. That was enough for me to experience the game, since he went over it all in great detail, the codex, horrible writing, paradigm system, the long hallways, the combat, and some of the dumb not funny quirky things that didnt make much sense. It's clear to me SE lost their way years ago. Sadly all the great Japanese companies I grew up with as a child, Konami/Squaresoft/crapcom, have fallen massively from grace. Hell I remember playing obscure JRPG's that even back then I thought were a bit cheesy for a reason or another. For example Lunar Story, while I don't remember much of the story what stood out as a bit corny was the horrible English dubbing that they did. I still played the whole game, and even the second. But it was evident back then they were losing their way. I played many a JRPG on NES/SNES and they couldn't be rivaled. Now the gaming industry is flooded with generic games being milked as cash cows. Even Nintendo is guilty of this with it's long time franchise Mario, and Zelda games. I read an interview once by a Japanese developer that said most Japanese companies are terrified to try new things like the Western style gaming developers and even European developers do. So they are falling behind massively. Keiji Inafune is one person I admire and respect above most Japanese developers, he was shitcanned by crapcom, I will NEVER touch another crapcom game as long as they are in business for destroying the Mega Man franchise and forcing Inafune to leave >:(. But thankfully I helped fund the Mighty #9 kickstarter, as wel as project Phoenix which ironically has Uematsu working on it :D. I can't be happier that some of these devs are finally branching out to the world of Indie Dev where the gaming industry will thrive and survive.
@chipwithdip You completely missed my point apparently... Again I will re-iterate what I was saying. Prior to Square becoming Square Enix they were making great games. When Square Enix was formed, their very first turd was 10, and the 10-2 respectively. 11 was a good game then 12. 13, 13-2, 13-3 are all shit, 15 far as I'm concerned is shit. 14 granted was bad at first but the redo thankfully turned it around and it's a fun game to play.
Now, Braverly is NOT an Final Fantasy game, I admit I don't know much about it, but from what I've seen, it has nothing to do with the Final Fantasy franchise. However, I believe It IS a Final Fantasy inspired game I think, but it does not count as a Final Fantasy game, please don't put it with the other Final Fantasy games thank you very much.
