Technically they did not beat nVidia. Ever heard of 9800GX2?? The 4870x2 goes for about $600. The 9800GX2 can go as low as $300 and it performs much better.

nVidia is dishing out more and more graphics cards like there is no tomorrow. Release price maybe out of reach, but wait about 4-6 months and you can buy a graphics card for about $150. My GeForce 8600GT OC is doing quite well right now, but in about 6 months I will get my hands on the 9800GTx2. I don't think more games will come out like Crysis. I don't believe there is any need to buy the latest GC on the market. Waste of money. nVidia needs to come off the steriods. I can play Crysis, Call of Duty 4, Command and Conquer 3, and Company of Heroes on medium-ultra high graphics with decent FR/min. Guys don't waste your money just yet. Wait 6 months and get it for half the price.
