Will this run be able to play games, such as crysis, on high-ish settings?

2 ATI HD4850s (crossfire) (at 512mb per 4850)

Intel Q6600 @ 2.4ghz

X48 intel motherboard

5.1 speakers

32bit vista OS

4gbs DDR2 memory

500gb SATA hard drive

850W power supply

Will this rig be a good rig for the future, and, play the games well for now?

If you want a 9800gx2 you will need a 780i sli mobo

more power supply

etc,etc.

same with other cards, you need to re-configure your whole rig to change your video card. but seriously, if thats your budget, get two HD4850s, which should do what a 9800gx2 should do, and for cheaper. but games need to support Sli/crossfire. Some games dont have SLI, so the 9800gx2 cant use both GPU cores, so it basically becomes a 8800GT. and with the two HD4850s, with no sli/Crossfire games, it will out-preform the 9800GX2 in both cases IMO.

It's decent. I would reccomend an X38 or X48 mobo.

but if you don't want those ones the one you have, should be able to run it.

Well, my current rig (which will be thrown out the window in about a week)

runs an ATI radeon X850 Pro, which is a really old card, and it will run just fine.Dont take my word for it, but i think the video card in your laptop may slightly out-preform the one i have now, and it runs spore, but you wont see all the nice affects, such as lighting, etc, etc

I dont think the game supports quad core

that, or it cant recognize all your ram

and/or it doesn't recognize your videocard drivers.

ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe AMD 790FX AM2+ 4PCI-E16 CrossFireX 2PCI SATA2 RAID Sound GBLAN Motherboard

So will that do? ^^^

Although im using Asus and ATI, can i stick with an intel processer? or should i go to AMD?

You just took a step backwards compatibility wise. Pick up an X38 or X48 chipset LGA775 socket board. Not AM2, not AM2+, just LGA775. Or search by chipset, the X38/X48 chipset is Intel only.

Aight, I updated it, and here it is.

1 x Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad Core Processor LGA775 Kentsfield 2.40GHZ 1066FSB 8MB Retail Box
1 x Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition 64BIT DVD OEM
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB SATA2 3GB/S 7200RPM 16MB Cache NCQ Hard Drive
1 x Logisys MS608RD M-COUPE Red Optical Mouse Wheel USB 800DPI Blue LED Headlights
1 x D-LINK DFE-530TX Fast PCI 10/100 Network Card
1 x Turtle Beach Montego DDL 7.1 Dolby Digital Live Surround Sound Card PCI W/ Digital Out
1 x Antec 120MM Blue LED Case Fan 4PIN 2600RPM 34CFM 30DBA
1 x Logitech X-530 5.1 Speaker System Black 70W RMS 140W W/FDD2
1 x Logitech Office Pro Keyboard Black PS/2 W/ Multimedia Keys & Detachable Palm Rest OEM
1 x Silverstone Nitrogon NT06-LITE LGA775 S478 S939 AM2 Copper Base Heatpipe Heatsink *No Fan*
1 x Intel BOXDX38BT Bonetrail ATX LGA775 X38 DDR3 2PCI-E16 PCI-E1 2PCI Sound GBLAN 1394A Motherboard
1 x Samsung SH-S203B Black SATA DVD+RW 20X8X16 DVD-RW 20X6X16 DL 18X/12X INT DVD Writer OEM W/ Vista SW
1 x Corsair Value Select PC2-5300 4GB 2X2GB DDR2-667 240PIN DIMM Dual Channel Memory Kit
2 x Visiontek Radeon HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 PCI-E Video Card
1 x Logisys CS-51WBK 51W Black 450W ATX Tower Case 4X5.25 2X3.5 5X3.5INT W/ Window
1 x Thermaltake Toughpower 750W ATX12V 24PIN SLI/CROSSFIRE Ready ATX Power Supply 140MM Fan Active PFC
1 x nGear RJ45 CAT 5E 3FT Cable

And the two HD4850s are cheapers than the 9800gx2, but will they out perform it?
