SSD's are reliable but expensive as **** Get an 128gb for your OS and a mechanical for your data.

Johnny_Rock

Have you heard of any BSOD issues with SSD's? and will 128gb be worth the higher price

I'm Looking for an SSD to install windows 7 on it along with Adobe Master Collection, Maya 2011, and ZBrush. I hear quite amount of people complaining that their BIOS do not detect their drive and some says that they constantly get the Blue Screen of Death. Should I stay with a regular mechanical hard drive such as WD Caviar Black? I will get a hhd to store my files in if I do go for ssd.
I'm looking at these right now:

Corsair Force Series 3 120gb

I'm hoping that they will have a price drop because I only have $500 left and I still need a storage drive.

Hi I was just wondering since the new Radeon HD 7970 just released. I'm looking for a graphic card that will max out most new games out there. Currently I got my eyes on GTX580 and HD6970.

[QUOTE="yonikko"][QUOTE="silversix_"]Keep suggestions coming!! Also looking for a monitor since i RMA's my IPS one which was a backbleed town... No more IPS for me, paying 35 for shipping sucks.silversix_

Do all lower priced IPS panel monitors have this problem? Im looking at ASUS ML239H 23" right now for graphic designing and gaming.

I'm not 100% sure but i think backlight bleed happens even to a lot of high end ips monitors like the ultrasharp. If it wasn't of the backlight bleed, PA238Q would've an amzing monitor.

EDIT: The monitor you want is almost guaranteed backlight bleed. I was gonna buy it too but reviews are just shiet for it.

I'm guessing the same goes for the 24" model Asus ML249H

Anything else you can tell us about the type of recording? Does he plan on using a mic for vocals or instruments (if there are any)? You see there are many different kinds of soundcards, some specialize in recording (taking an analog sound and converting it into digital) while the majority focus on doing the opposite for playback purposes. If there are no analog sources and he wishes to have a high quality sound for playback, then I recommend an external DAC over an internal soundcard.

EDIT: just read the bit about the guitar. If the guitar is running through the keyboard then it is already being converted to a digital sound before being sent to the computer. (unless the midi sends the sound to the PC in an analog state).

NVIDIATI

He uses some type of external interface to plug his guitar in and it records it on the computer. I dont know much about music recording and producing sorry
