I assume you are looking at the standard, non- customized model.
Basically, it has a good graphics card (pretty much all games high or very high @ 1600x1200 or lower) but the processor is weak. Couple that with the fact that it only has 2gb of Ram, with 4gb coming in @ and extra £77, I would not go for it at all. However, Dell systems and Alienware systems (owned by Dell) are always quite high quality. As a matter of fact, I am typing this on a Dell XPS 430 as I write this.
See my sig for a review on it, I bought it only last month. At the time it cost me £600, but I got; 4850, Q8200, 3gb DDR3 and a X48 mobo. I recommend you look into it (and my review!).

could you give me a link as when i search it on dell it comes up a dell xps 430 but it doesn't let me customize the graphics card further than 4680
Ive been hearing that the alienware aurora is not worth the money at all what i'm asking is could i get the same components for a cheaper price elsewhere and would i be able to play great looking games like crysis, world in conflict etc on high settings.
As 360 owners, what do you expect or want from Microsoft @ E3? You know they are going to hype Xbox Live, Halo ODST. That's surely not enough right.

i'd love for them to announce that theyve made some more first party studio's because this year might not be the best but it could ceternly help the future years...
