Speaking to an insider, Pro-G has learned that Sony is now supporting rumble for its Sixaxis controller as revealed in the latest System Development Kit (SDK) sent to developers on Thursday.
While the news of rumble support isn't necessarily Earth shattering - Sony and Immersion both kissed, made up, and partnered earlier this year after all - it's the timing in which this news broke that has us excited.
With this year's Toyko Game Show starting imminently, and with developers being handed the tools to implement rumble a mere week before the show kicks off, the unveiling of a redesigned Sixaxis controller seems likely. If anything, this at least confirms that rumble will in fact be featured in future PS3 titles.

Okay so well, 'Touch Sense' for the new controller has been pretty much confirmed. In 1UP's podcast the guy states he got information from an insider that this new controller will be announced for the PS3. Here are some other links detailing this new mini-revolutionary technology called touch sense:

So basically what this new 'touch sense' technology means for gamers is:
"The vibrations will not emanate solely any more from the handles of the pad (as on Dualshock) but will be perceptible in various places of the lever. It as should be specified as they will be more powerful, more intense and over short periods if the programmers wish it. Thus, the developers will be able to create a multitude of still new effects. If Sony chooses this technology, it will thus not act of a simple return of the vibrations, but well of a very new technology
- This technology will be able to reproduce the fast jolt and forces caused by a shot,
- Immersion promises that one will be able to feel the asperities of the road in the plays of race (like Dirt), but also small shocks related on the shiftings of speed and even to accelerations or decelerations"
With three days until TGS, we can only wait and see.
