Never got that bug myself,but i did get the invisible wizards bug,where you have to shot three wizards on an island with a ships gun.

I used the unofficial patch to get around this bug and increase the fov,you can find it through the steam forum for the game.

Maybe not a full on action title,but i thought Dead Rising 2 and it's expansion had some very creative and humourous ways of dealing with the enemies in game.

Have you tried Dark Messiah of Might and Magic?
