Hello, My Name Is Will, And I'm a Wireless-OHOLIC

Ok guys, this is sort of like an online wireless intervention. I cant stop myself from buying wireless stuff, mainly because I love it! You guys can check out my previous entries, where you will see pics of the plethora of wireless contraptions that I have collected over the past year, which include: Logitech wireless controller for the Xbox, Pelican wireless controller for the PS2, MIcrosoft MN 740 wireless reciever for awesome wireless internet over Xbox, Netgear wireless router, Sony RF 960R wireless Headphones for extra loud late-night Halo 2 action, or extra creepy Fatal Frame 2 Oops I wet my pants loud. And Now I have added what I believe is the sweetest one of them all : Microsoft Optical Wireless Keyboard and Mouse for BlueTooth! See pic below:

This thing is the apple of my eye, it is sooo sweet, for anyone that hasn't gone wireless yet, trust me there is no better time than now, once you loose all the wires its a different world, Here is something cool, I have been using the Bluetooth to transfer pics from my phone to my PC, wirelessly! You can't beat that! Now I know that it may seem like I am going overboard with all this wireless stuff, but really, I'm done, I just hope the next-gen systems support all this wireless stuff I've got. Its scary how sometimes a hobbie can consume you, but for those of you that may see this as an unhealthy habit, let me say that for every item I have, I have put in an hour or two of overtime at work so that I can afford it (I work in a hospital's Cardiac Unit, so staying late starting an IV or admitting a new patient is easy) Not only that, but I also do extra chores around the house so the wife stays happy. So what do you guys think? Im I going overboard, or is it OK? p>

1 Down 4 To Go!

I decided to wake up early this saturday morning for one reason and one reason only: Beating the original Halo. Yes its true, you already beat that game a 1000 times years ago, but I just got an Xbox for xmas, along with NInja Gaidedn and Halo 2, so lets just say that I had my hands full of gaming heaven. I had promised myself that I would not play Halo 2 without first beating the original, I kind of kept the promise, and I kind of didn't, I play Halo 2 online constantly, but I haven't touched the story mode, I haven't even watched the opening cut-scenes, that's how much I care about the story, and now that I have finally beaten the great quest that is Halo, I can move on, but first my impressions: 1. What an excellent game, aside from some lenghthy quests, the pacing was great, the white-knuckle battles were excellent, and the vehicles ahh the vehicles were awesome!, I have fallen in love with the Banshee, I wish there was a game just about banshee squadrons, the flight engine in that game alone can make an excellent flight sim, and the battles between Banshees and a newly revealed earth fighter would be epic, and if you add xbox live to the mix? Too bad the developer for day is closed ;P lol. Well this week was long and draining, but I have a 3 day week-end ahead of me, and with Halo 2, the Playoofs, and more Halo 2 things are shaping up! PS. Here is the obligatory zayas pic, I just love posting them, is me blowing up Halo, enjoy!

Halo 2 Online Overkill

Its been crazy lately. I had a plan when I got my xbox, I was calmy going to enjoy the classic Halo, soak in the story and then move on to Halo 2 with occasional servings of Ninja Gaiden, Half Life 2, and Killzone. Funny how things workout. I went ahead and got a wireless router, since I had the Xbox reciever, I felt I needed to just set it up. I of course went wireless G, since its the new standard and thruthfully I dont have patience to wait ..........54mbps.......sweet. I dont have a whole lot of wireless devices or multiple computers, basically my network is made up of just my Xbox, so I chose the ipod-styled Netgear router see pic below:

simple enough. What I wasn't counting on is the factt hat Halo on XBL would consume me. Ever since I hooked it up just to check it out all my other games have taken a back seat and frankly I have had ebough. I want to beat the first Halo, I want to play the Halo 2 story mode, I want to beat Killzone, I want to wear a ninja mask as I bask in the graphical majesty that is Ninja Gaiden, and I want to replay Half Life 2. I have always taken pride in beating all of my games, I feel that I owe it to myself, not only because I paid the hefty price, but also to experience the full story of the game. I know a lot of gamers have had problems beating all their games, but I thought that would never happen to me. I will beat all these fantastic games, I guess this is not a bad situation to be in, and I see it as the result of one of the best years in video games, ever. But I do have a crunch time. My goal is to beat all this awesome games before the PSP arrives in march, The hard part is that I have to cut down on my gaming, I really want to spend more time with the wife and kid, so I'll keep you posted on whether I meet this fantastic goal I set for myself. See ya!

My First Journal Entry

Well its official, everyday I fall deeper and deeper into the addiction that is being a GS Forumite, come on , admit it, you are addicted too, its ok, there's definetly worst addictions outthere, and as long as you don't get caught by your boss (Minimize you fool, minimize!!!) You'll be OK . In fact, I can thank GS for making me a multi-console gamer for the first time in my life, dont get me wrong, Im not a n00b, I started with the NES, worked myself up to the SNES, then I got the original SEGA, way past its prime, the same with the next gen, I owned a PS1, then I got a genesis, followed by the N64 and a DC way past their prime, but I digress, my point is that this is the first time I own two major consoles both in their prime: a PS2 and an XBOX. I would very much like to own a GC, as its one fantastic console, but I have enough troubles justifying this "Hobbie" to my wife as it is, and frankly, as much as I would like to contribute to the greatest company in gaming (Come on fanboys admit it) as a father I just dont have time for another console, a compromise Im sure a lot of you have had to make. But enough with the sappiness, I love my Xbox, as a recovering fanboy (we all were at one point) I am stoked about my Xbox, I still love my PS2, but the XBOX is on fire! I treat my Xbox like a hot rod, I hooked it up with a MN-70 wireless reciever, hooked it up to my wireless network, and I have all components and optical digital audio connections thanx to the amazingly good, and cheap ($19.00) Microsoft HD pack. See pics below.

This all come together with my most prized possesion, my TV, its not a top of the line plasma, but I am very grateful for it

All these wonderful gadgets are part of my transformation into a "Techno Sexual" which is great for me, but it sometimes annoys my wife (Im sure Im not the only one) Right now Im about to beat the original Halo (What a pioneering game!) I slash a little with Ninja Gaiden, but that its hard to do when I am constantly playing Halo2 on XBL! I still do a little bit of Killzone (Sad really, a game that was so over hyped, it is now equally unappreciated, its not that bad a game) and of course i still play a couple of rounds of either CS:Source, or HL2: DM, aswell as play HL2, because that game is truly the best cinematic experience of last year. Well i think this is a good start to what Im sure will be a long list of entries, gaming is at an all-time high, not only in my life, but as an entertainment medium, and frankly, i am happy for that
