Most people don't know this but you can adjust the eye distance of the PSVR to get better focus.

You need to go to the main menu on your PS4.....

Settings > Devices > PSVR

and right there it gives you the option to automatically or manually adjust eye distance to improve image quality.

I found this option last night. I went through all the PSVR options, and fine adjusted them. I wouldn't say it really made any difference for me, there is still a light blur to the visuals. The 'option' you speak of measures the distance(width) between your eyes(how far your eyes are apart from each other), and then an auto adjustment is made based on that measurement, but I saw no real difference, there is a slight blur. I have sorta gotten used to it. What I think it is, is the two side of the goggles(the inside at the glasses) are not perfectly symmetric. I really do not know what else to say or do, the PSVR has a slight blur, and there are no other adjustments I can make to get it out.

Okay, I bought my PSVR on the 14th, it launched on the 13th, I was a day late, but Lord have mercy I wasn't a dollar short, cause this MFer is PRICEY. Right out of the gate the headset with NOTHING else is 400$+ tax. Then, you hopefully have a PS4 and a PS4 controller(standard). Next, you are gonna need that camera(yes the new old stock, PS peripheral that is about the age of a 2016 graduate's MD tenure). Wanna really get psyched? 2 PS motion controllers(remember when you used to own those? Of course you don't). What does this come up to? Well if you got the 'launch bundle' in time, it was 499$. If you had to buy it separately? About 560$. Welcome to capitalism, in case you had not made it yet.

So, I buy my PSVR, and yes it did kinda felt like Sony was making me gag on a big long, plastic, hairy peripheral of some sort(at both ends), but hey let's keep it clean, as I FINALLY got the balls to stick my credit card in that chip thing for 10 minutes straight. BAM! I own a PSVR, now to get out of the store, and home without getting jacked, close the curtains!

Getting this thing out of the box is easy, how they got it in the box is some kinda Illuminati magic trick, seriously, this thing is meticulously stuffed. Got it all out, started kinda feeling like I was gonna help Darth Vader get dressed, or something. This thing is A LOT, I mean, a BUTT TON of cables and peripherals.

Here it is in it's true unflattering, needy glory, the PSVR! \/\/\/

In case you like exact details... the completed page of the manual. /\/\/\

DO notice, the manual does not show a wall plug for your PS4 or your TV. AGHH, what's a couple more cables at this point?

So, is it time to play? No, get ready to figure out how to fit this thingamajig not just 'onto' your head, but onto your head so that it feels 'natural'. Give yourself a good 10-20 minutes before you lose your temper. It does fit fine, I did not find it uncomfortable once I mastered the slightly intuitive, locking system of the headset.

Now let's turn it on, the camera has to see your head, the camera tracks your head's movements. I recommend an old camera tripod stand or something, you want this thing close, and dead center of your head. It is ALMOST TIME!!! Wait... How do I turn it on? Oh man... you cannot do ANYTHING with this thing on your face, I can't even get to the light switch, agh. Take the head set off(you'll get used to the function of it). OK so turn it on, get it back on my head, then lined up with my eyes..... and...

OMG!!! This is weird, what? what? OMG!!! I am in a full digital environment(visually). I reach out with my hand, and notice my arms are not in virtual reality with me. I look fully behind me, beside me, the ceiling , the floor, it is all white(and magical), and looks like some sorta PS lobby. Congrats dork! I have made it into virtual reality!!!

Games! It comes with a 9 game demo disc, and a free download of a demo called PS Room. Wait, now I actually need updates and downloads, yay I love free downloads of update stuff! About 30 minutes later, the downloads are finished, FINALLY, I am gonna play a damn PSVR game!

Of course, I pick the Until Dawn demo, I am home alone, why not scare the shit out of myself? I click the x button, let me tell you, this is the first time I have ever experienced VR of any kind. This game comes on, and... I am not exactly sure how to explain the emotion that runs over me. Now, this is a pretty stupid game, but at the same time, it doesn't matter, because I am in another world, it sorta feels like I purchased a shitty theme park ride, and I put it in my living room. It is like kinda blowing my mind further than a gaming experience EVER has. It is quite the experience!!

Negative stuff? The glasses can seem a bit blurry. The words and button options in the menus, and such, can almost give you a headache(because of this blur). The resolution is trash...

I was PRETTY disappointed at the resolution, I am gonna say that the resolution is not this thing's strong suit. Imagine staring at an old school 720p TV REALLY close, and then just a little bit blurry. Okay, so now one more thing, imagine you have a 150 inch TV in front of you, with the resolution of a 3ds. I will tell you the truth, it looks PRETTY bad, this thing 'can' look BAD(right down saddening).

BUT, once a game 'gets going' you won't notice all that much. Sure, while playing Drive Club, the cars far ahead of you are border-lining on looking like "Pole Position"(the arcade not the Atari version), but this is not why I am here(on PSVR). It would be a nice option to have graphics that look like modern 1080 gaming, but I was not expecting those levels of resolution, simply because I had seen images, and reviews and stuff, I knew what I was getting.

Now, something a little more positive, the first demo I play is the Until Dawn game, AMAZING 'EXPERIENCE'(period), you naysayers always seem to be the ones sitting at home in dirty undies never 'experiencing' ANYTHING. So be it, live your life how you want to. Me? I am still all YOLO, let me tell you something sweet cakes, you only live once, and many people will not be here tomorrow. Alrighty, next up Drive club, PRETTY DAMN COOL 'experience', something kinda 'normal' about it though, didn't seem 'that much different' from just racing on a regular game screen, but it was still a great little trip. Next up, Battlezone, PRETTY DAMN COOL! Looks really good, getting used to the whole thing, and then, I started feeling like I was gonna hurl, kinda like that I drank a 12 pack, but I usually only drink a 6 pack kinda feeling. I hung as long as I could. From what I can tell ya(about the sickness), it takes about as long to drop the motion sickness as how long you played. I played about 30 minutes or so. Looking forward to the other demos, not looking forward to feeling sick though.

On top of all that, PSVR just doesn't have 'what it takes' to become a mainstay gaming peripheral(in the average gamer's playing time). This is more of a 'hey wanna try something different' kinda thing. Unfortunately, PSVR just does not have 'the skeleton to build upon', and go on to have much impact at all on gaming itself(or PlayStation). I do recommend trying one out(for as cheap as possible), but dropping 500-700$? on one? I recommend waiting until they are around 200-300$ Unless you have 500-700$ burning a hole in your pocket.

It is an exciting time for me, having just got it, and I do feel I have experienced 'a part' of the future(not just the future of gaming, but sorta the future of humans becoming more crowned with computerized peripherals as technology grows into the future), but PSVR is gonna disappoint A LOT of gamers. I can take this loss and move on, but even I feel like PlayStation ripped me off by about 350$ The unit is overpriced. And if I could go back, I wouldn't pay 560$ for it.

I give the PSVR a 6/10. It is like they say with the Mafia 3 game, when it is good it is AMAZING, but when it is bad it is heart breaking(because of the wasted potential)

(UPDATE)More updates on dealing with cables, and adopting a PSVR into your living room on page2(post 60)

(UPDATE)I also Just bought the full game of "Here They Lie" and I will give some more infos on that. It was 20$
