Iron Man 2 was amazing! I like it better than the first. It had a great story, and the acting was fantastic. Robert Downey Jr. was born for the role of Tony Stark. It was a sequel, yes, but it also was one great big setup for the Avengers. LOVED the movie; nothing will be better this entire year. Here's to it making a ton of money!

The Empire Strikes Back Trivia Night
by zepherous35 on Comments
Ok, so the 30th Anniversary is coming up on May 21st. I was thinking, maybe we should all get together and have trivia on that night. If we could all get online at the same time, we should have a grand time playing. We can either have it here in my blog, or over on The Clone Wars forum, where there is a standing trivia thread. I invite all that are reading this, and anyone you would like to invite. We will ask ESB questions, and other questions from the Saga only, after we have exhausted the ESB questions. It should make for a great time! Post some comments so we can figure out atime and such. Let me know if you are interested! Thanks!
Top Episodes of Scrubs: Rated by a Mega Mega Fan
by zepherous35 on Comments
1. My Finale (the goodbyes were heartfelt, and really got me; especially Carla's and the hallway scene at the end)
2. My Soul On Fire (the speech at the end was a huge throwback, and finally showed something I had missed since season 3: Elliot and JD, where they should be)
3. My Happy Place (the conversation between Elliot and JD was a highlight of the entire series, and the camera work during that scene was magnificent; many throwbacks, and what JD says at the end is priceless, and sets the stage for the end of the series)
4. My Journey (camera work is beautiful at the end of this one; and you have to love Journey playing during JD's closing narration, brilliantly done)
5. My Cold Shower (love some of the camera work in this one, the scene in the bar at the end, when JD realizes his feelings for Elliot, classic)
6. My Fallen Idol (Love it just for the speech JD gives Cox at the end; also, it shows that Cox does care a lot about JD)
7. My Half-Acre (the music is a highlight, and has some classic lines)
8. My Five Stages (some of the dialogue between Hedrick and Cox is classic; this episode shows that the series is still serious, even with all the jokes and antics)
9. My Screw-Up (obvious reasons)
10. My Chief Concern (the loose ends are starting to be tied up in this one, and you see that the end has finally come)
Scrubs is amazing. These are just some of my favorite episodes, I could go on. I have seen the series all the way through at least 50 times. I have seen the finale twice. I just cant bring myself to watch it again yet, I miss the series a lot.
Comments are welcome.
Learning another language...
by zepherous35 on Comments
That's right, everyone. I am currently learning another language. It is difficult, but is well worth it. By June or July, I am hoping to be fluent in it. Stayed tuned to my blog to see just what it is I am learning! I think it may shock you! Or, maybe not.
Tekken 6
by zepherous35 on Comments
Tekken 6 (for Xbox 360) is plain amazing. It is the game we have always loved, plus some. I have only played it for a few days, and I love it! Mind you, the Scenario Campaign mode lacks. It is tiresome, and the character you have to play doesnt react very quickly. I would much rather be Law. The online play is amazing. It is the true highlight of the game. It is challenging, and that makes it a blast.
I have played both ranked and player matches. It is frustrating when you get beat, but you quickly recover when you move on to the next round. When playing, I can tell a lot of the people have never played Tekken. I have been following Tekken since Tag Tournament. I actually came in second place at a real Tekken Tournament. Long story short, the guy who beat me got me with a cheap shot. Still, second place is nothing to look over.
I know these characters. I have memorized their moves, and they still feel natural to me. Of course, the button configuration is different, but it literally takes moments to adjust. When I picked up the controller, it felt natural, like I had been playing for years (which I have been!!).
The graphics are amazing. They really touched up the physics of the fighting genre. During some bad connections online, the playing slowed down. While I was playing in 'slow motion', I saw some of the hits as they took place. The reactions of the characters are well developed, and seem very real.
I love this game. I definitely recommend it for Xbox 360, it is one of my favorite games of the year. I would say it is number 2, falling right behind Batman: Arkham Asylum. I expected a lot out of this game, and they delivered. A game very worthy of the Tekken title!
Why I gave up "The Clone Wars"
by zepherous35 on Comments
Recently, I stopped watching The Clone Wars. Now, I know, it doesnt sound like a big deal; people leave TV shows everyday. So, I guess there should be a backstory to show how big of a deal this is.
I live and breathe Star Wars. Every minute, of everyday. I read for hours everynight, and sit online and just search for new Star Wars information. Call it an addiction, call it an obsession. I call it a hobby. I use Star Wars for examples to motivate at my work; the most memorable and defining moments of my life have had to do with Star Wars. It is life to me.
Now, for me to leave something Star Wars, and not care about it, is really something huge. The Clone Wars is a ridiculous excuse for a Saturday morning cartoon. Dave Filoni is very capable of making a good series. Ive seen him make some really good episodes. He knows this Universe, and he is very capable. But, I feel he is targeting the wrong audience. He is assuming, while you are watching this series, that you know absolutely nothing about Star Wars.
Its insulting. I have come to know these characters like they are my family. I know more about their lives than my own. And the antics Filoni pulls, are repulsive. Every week, he puts together an episode full of violence, and no character development. In 26 episodes, we had ONE single episode that actually developed a character. And it was the best episode for me. Its battle, after battle, after battle, after mindless battle. Violence begets violence begets violence.
And it is because he is targeting the wrong audience. The fans have made Star Wars successful. I think he should at least consider them while making this rubbish. People tell me "its Lucas' universe, he can do what he wants...." Yea thats fine and well. But, this isnt Lucas doing this, its Filoni. This is his show. And his piece of crap series is overwriting things that are EXTREMELY better than it. As far as I know, Lucas has already been upset over a few of the episodes.
I feel like I should address the zombie issue. Yea, Filoni has introduced zombies on this series. I think that is a plain crappy idea. Why mix the horror genre, with this revolutionary, cultural phenomenon that is Star Wars? Its because its what's in right now. Zombies are popular, and they are hoping to grab a few viewers. Sell-out. Lucas made Star Wars under scrutiny. People told him it was the worst idea in history. People said it was going to be the biggest flop of all time. He didnt do what was "in" at the moment. He did something new, broke new ground, and went above and beyond creating a movie. That, and that alone, is why I HATE this idea. Just because its "in" at the moment, doesnt mean you have to ruin something that is suppose to be all its own. "Midi-chlorians, lightsabers, Force 'ghost', ...." those are all special to this Universe. They were created for THIS Universe. They are sacred. Zombies? Been there done that. Why should they be in this Universe? I dont care that they arent as "crazy" as the others I listed. That stuff is real to me, and countless other fans. How dare someone try to downgrade that? Zombies?? Sheesh....
Its not because its aimed at kids. I know plenty of series aimed at kids that were very good. Just to name a few: Avatar, Spiderman: TAS, Superman: TAS, Batman: TAS, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, X-Men: TAS, X-Men Evolution, I could go on. Yes, it would be better if it was aimed at adults, for the fans. But hey, thats what the live-action series is going to be for.
I praise Filoni for bringing Star Wars to a new generation of people. I just wish he did a better job of it. I am teaching my padawan the way these characters are REALLY suppose to be portrayed. Not anywhere to close to the way they are presented on this series. I want him to love them like I do, and to see them the way they are suppose to be seen. Not this rubbish of endless violence, no story, and depredation of the characters I call my family.
Ghostbusters: The Video Game
by zepherous35 on Comments
The first thing you notice about Ghostbusters: The Video Game is the constant throwbacks. From the characters, locations, villains, and references, it is all here. The original cast is back, and they are better than ever. Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis return to write the story and script for this well-built, generally entertaining game. The developers seem to make an extra effort to deliver everything you expect from the Ghostbusters, and more.
The locales are beautiful in this game. You feel like you're back in the 80's, sitting in a movie theater, watching Bill Murray go around town cracking bad jokes that you cant help but laugh at. The firehouse, Hotel Sedgewick, among others make appearances here. Even Times Square during Stay Puft's visit, looks excitedly similar to the movies. The most impressive, from my point of view, is when they cross dimensions while inside the Library. The visuals are stunning during this sequence.
The dialogue is very accurate and delves deep into the Ghostbuster mythology. Ray and Egon are spewing technical data about ghost, entities, protoplasm, and such. As I said earlier, Peter's jokes never really resonate, just due to their ridiculousness; but, Bill Murray delivers them with such ethusiasm, you cant help but chuckle. And, of course, he has the love interest, once again. The two interact some, but leave you wanting something more of a resolution. Also, the rookie you are playing never says a word. Sure, when running from a ghost that has taken on the shape of a monster made out of 500 books, he will scream a little bit. I think his silence adds a certain dynamic to the experience, making it more enjoyable to see it through his eyes.
The music was very reminiscent of the movies. Mostly all the music was recycled and approved upon, so fans of the series feel right at home. It would have been nice to have heard the theme song a bit more, perhaps longer during the rolling credits. Nonetheless, the music really added to the overall experience of the game.
The gameplay is very satisfying. Everything from the Proton gun, to trapping ghost, they didnt cut corners anywhere. When you trap your first ghost early on, you're addicted. They nailed the controls throughout. It feels natural and it's just plain fun to defend the citizens of New York against ghost and goblins. The camera is beautifully placed behind and to the right, so it rarely goes off course. Only a few times did it not cooperate with me, and those were mostly player-related. The boss battles were difficult, but not overly so. They kept you on the edge of your seat, while still not loosing the enjoyment factor of the game. So many games make the boss battles so difficult, you forget you were suppose to be having fun. This game balances it nicely. Throughout, it never felt like a chore to be playing.
The end of the game was conclusive, and brought everything together nicely. It would seem they set up for a sequel. With great gameplay, dialogue, story, and characters, this is a series that could long live in the gaming (and possibly film?) industry.

Digital Movies instead of Blu-Rays?
by zepherous35 on Comments
I read recently that they are going to stop selling DVDs/Blurays. Everything is going to be digital. Its fine for music, but not for movies and TV shows. I DO NOT want to watch movies on my computer. What will be the reason to have a televion, then? They are already doing it with video games, which I dont think is fair. Also, now that they are talking about metering the internet, people (me included) wont be able to afford digitial games and movies. I dont watch youtube, or any of those other video sites. I am traditional. I buy Blurays for my collection. I will not be watching movies at home anymore if I have to watch them on my computer. It will not happen. What about the people that dont have internet? What about the people that cant afford a computer? How will they watch movies? I think its ridiculous! They will alienate half, if not more, of their viewing audience. I think they will see a steady decline in revenue. I am a devoted movie watcher, and no matter how much I want to see a movie; if I dont see it in the theater, then I will not be watching it. We ll see where they go. Bad move, studios.
As always, comments are welcome.
