Attempting to be a gamer

I have recently decided to take a break from the party scene. Meaning i'm only going to get trashed thursday, friday and saturday instead of the usual monday through saturday. During this period, i plan on finishing some screenplays i began writing, catching up on some movies i missed, and most importantly playing games. Now i'm not going to lie, i have been out of the gaming loop for a while. I need some suggestions on some games to play. Can anyone suggest some games that have come out since Christmas. A list of 5 games or so would be great. Thanks in advance.

It all Falls Down

While mysophomore year at NYU has come to a conclusion and i have 2 months of glorious summer ahead, I can't help but be a little depressed. When I came to NYU i was an 18 year old kid chock full of interesting hobbies and great ambitions. I loved art, played the piano, was an avid reader and had written five screenplays. Two years later, i have read two books, stopped playing the piano and haven't written a single screenplay. It seems all i do know is smoke weed, get drunk, and try to fuk sluts. While it's cool to talk about how many girls you bang, is this all i want in my life? Im not some high school kid anymore, eventually i'm going to have to find a career and grow up. I don't know why it took so long for me to come to this conclusion but now that i have, i can honestly say this is the most down i've been in a while. If any of you have any tips, comments, or anything you want to share or think would help, please do.

The Champ is Here

What up playas. So yesterday me and a couple of my friends smoked a couple of blunts and saw Iron Man 2. To be honest i didnt think it was that good but it was definitley an acceptable sequel. When we got back to my crib i was really in the mood to play some scifi-ish game for some reason. Enter Perfect Dark Zero on the xbox live arcade. Perfect dark is a sick game like really f#$king good. I never got a chance to play it for N64 and i am blown away by how simple yet amazing it is. Thoughts, concerns, and sorry if this is poorly written by try writing this after polishing of a magnum of blue label. Until next time.

420- Stay twisted

First off happy 420 to all my homies out there that blaze the haze, hope everyone had a solid time, i know I had. Let me start of by saying this has been probably the best 420 i have had in my relatively short six year career of Marijuana consumption. Instead of going to class today, me, my roomate, and three of our friends decided to have a video game binge. I broke out my N64, my roommate broke out the PS2, and my boy Rob brought out his 16in Roor bong. After a couple of bong hits i began to see all of the religious undertones in Pokemon Red. The "Evolution" of pokemon, how humans try to get power in every way possible; hence why the gym leaders rule over areas. It was a pretty intense epiphany. We also played immense amounts of splinter cell conviction on dave's 36- and some Uncharted 2 on my roommates PS3. It aint even 9:30 so the real festivities haven't popped off yet but it looks like im in-store for a solid time. Be easy everyone.

What's Good

AYO what's up gamespot. Sorry I haven't blogged in a while but life's been pretty hectic. While looking over my previous blogs, it dawned on me that I have really spoken about my collegeexperience. College has been great. As some of you know, I go to NYU which is Located in NYC, hence the name New York University. Basically i smoke trees, fornicate, drink, and when I get a chance play xbox. While i have been having a fantastic time, I am ashamed to admit that i have played a lot less video games than i anticipated playing. Drinking, drinking, and then recovering from drinking takes up much of time. It sucks because i feel as if this is a pre-curser for the rest of my life; that as i get older and older im going to have less and less time for gaming. Switching gears completely here, is it just me or are all girls evil creatures that try to control guys and make them jealous? Yeah i know this is poorly written, try writing a blog while drinking absolute and tell me how you do.

A Late Christmas Blog

Better late then never to do a Christmas blog so here goes. As usual, Christmas was at my house (well my parents) and the whole family came over Christmas Eve. Like my friend Jbul, i wasn't really looking forward to seeing the family and being faced with the onslaught of questions about my first year of college. To my surprise, it was the exact opposite. The atmosphere was very relaxed and I had no trouble slipping up to my room to play Modern Warfare 2. Christmas morning was fantastic as my little brother got me Assassins creed 2 and my rents got me DJ Hero Renegade addition. Assassins creed could possibly be one of the greatest games I have ever played. I am up to the eighth memory sequence and I am having a fantastic time. DJ Hero is also amazing. I never really got into Guitar Hero or any music/puzzle game so I cannot compare but DJ hero is sweet. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are actually in a club raving on E. The music selection is great, featuring my favorites like 2pac, Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Gangstarr, Mos Def, Jurassic 5 as well as Queen, Marvin Gay The Killers, Daft Punk etc. Hope everyone had a solid Christmas. Well thats it, check back for my new years post as it will be filled with my drunken exploits. OneLove.

Curtain Call

I'll make this brief. I just got the flu and can't go out for about three- four days. AKA the PERFECT time to pick up a new game. EVERYBODY who reads this, please comment, i really want to hear everyone's opinion. Should i get Borderlands, Dragon Age Origins, or Halo ODST. I know that they are different types of games (rpg shooter, rpg, FPS) but all i want to know is which one you think is the best. Thanks in advance.

Don't Call it a comeback

It's been about three months since i have picked up a controller for a variety of reasons. The First being that I really haven't had the time to play. My Girlfrienddisapproves of any activity that does not involve her so it is tough to get gaming in. The second reason is that i really haven't had the urge. Blowing things up and saving the earth from aliens really doesn't have the grasp on me it used to. With this being said, the other day i bought Ghostbusters and I can happily say i am a gamer again. I ordered Red Faction from Newegg and plan on picking up prototype tomorrow from the Gamestop. Expect me to be blogging more regularly as I am no longer at the mercy of the girlfriend (she is on vacation).

It was worth it All

In my most simplest form, i like to think of myself as a teenage mutant ninja turtle. I enjoy pizza, movies, music, girls, weed, beer pong, L rides, comics and video games. Throughout my High School career, my goal was to work as least as possible and still maintain good grades. I was always very respectful towards my teacher, often having very interesting conversations about how what we were learning in class related to a popular movie, book, or fad at the time. My parents always complained that i spent too much time playing video games, reading comics, watching movies or going out. The classic line was, "you have all this potential and your throwing it down the drain." I always told them that they were overreacting and that life was about happiness, and memories, not about working one's ass off so he could keep up with the jones's. About two months ago i found out that i had been accepted to NYU's General studies program. All the effort i had put in, all the fights with my parents, all the %$#@ i went through in High School eventually payed off. I always though life was about enjoying one's self, having a good time and trying to improve the lives of those around you. How money was not that important, that happiness and good health were the most important thing. Just this weekend, i had an epiphany of sorts (yes i was sober, this is not some stoned epiphany.) The most important thing in life is maximizing ones potential and making the most of ones God given gifts. If one is very smart but lazy, it is not ok to go to a decent college and have a run of the mil job. Life is about maximizing your gifts, making the most of what you have and other people would die for. As your reading this, don't think im some kid who got into a prestigious university and thinks hes the %$#@. Please think about what your gifts are, think about what you are doing and what you can do in your God given Capacity.
