@Thanatos2k: You're speaking in absolutes when absolutes have no truth.
"the Xbox audience only cares about shooters"
If that were true, Xbox One wouldn't be listed as a platform for Madden/FIFA/Fallout/etc. In order to register on the NPD list, some copies have to have been sold, meaning that the Xbox audience cares about things other than shooters enough to buy them.
@reduc_ab_: That's the wonderful thing about the English language: some thoughts can be expressed wonderfully in two or three words, while others can be phrased in some condescending "Need I remind you?" tone while saying absolutely nothing.
@sladakrobot: You can't blame Bethesda, though. It announced the release date for "Fallout 4" at its pre-E3 event on June 14. Microsoft announced the RoTR release date at its pre-E3 event the next morning.
While the game's production schedule had been set to make a Nov. 10 release date, Microsoft could've easily pushed it back one week to Nov. 17 or (not so easily) up one week to Nov. 3.
@lostn: It was No. 3 in the NPD report for October 2015 (its month of release).
Just for comparison: AC Unity landed only at No. 5 in its debut (Nov. 2014) despite following the stellar Black Flag. In its second month of release (Dec. 2014), Unity wasn't even in the Top 10.
