[QUOTE="Bdking57"]fools would rather send their money overseas then support their own country... a profitable microsoft equals more taxes on revenue and a better place to live in. The worst type of people in this world are the ones that constantly ignore this pure fact.skektek
That is a darling idealistic opinion, too bad it is entirely wrong. Microsoft doesn't pay taxes.
[QUOTE="dru26"]I remember when the Xbox was first announced, a few unnamed game developers were asked about making games for MS's console, and they flat out said the wouldn't because it would be the equivalent of working for the dark side, or for big oil companies. It kind of scared me away from the Xbox originally. Now with major publishers calling most of the shots, I think the "hatred" towards MS has lessened a bit from a gaming perspective.tcarruth
True. From a gaming point of view it is far more worrying that it now takes millions of dollars and huge developer support to make a game, thus marginalising original quirky games and encouraginggeneric sequels and tiresome spinoffs.
it honestly makes me laugh when people talk about gran turismo 5 and resident evil 5... FIVE!! we are the zombies for god's sake!!
Resident Evil has changed it's gameplay formula entirely. If anything, you should respect it. As proof not all corporate superstars rehash the same thing over and over again. They even tried online integration.
Nobody hates Microsoft except Apple, Sony, and Nintendo enthusiasts. The last two hate them because they don't have Sony or Nintendo branded on their system, and Apple lovers hate them because they love a competing company. Vista sold 40 million copies already and XP sold about 300 million. The 360 has sold over 10 million and hasn't even released anymore than one heavy hitter.
Who said people hate them so much? People hate them in the gaming industry because usually a lot of people don't like a newcomer, or someone like Microsoft who has a tendency to try and succeed in creating monopolies in markets. They would have a monopoly on MP3s if they didn't accept compatibility with iPods. They're probably kicking themselves for that dumb mistake.
I learned that after reading my high school grade economics textbook first chapter. If price wasn't a factor everyone would have everything fantastic and our economy would shrivel up and die.
You know, Nick, the suggested imagery of a baby accidentally shooting itself aside, I'm beginning to think your obsession with weapons and the military in general is bordering on unhealthy.
