Alot of people say that Silent Hill 2 was the best in the series and I think they are right on that one. Where ever the story was wired or strange or fighting Pyarmiad HeadMan which is one of the scariest bosses in the series. But Silent Hill 2 was amazing. Main story was about a guy called James Sunderland who gets this mystious letter from his dead wife Mary who died 3 years ago. James finds out that hsi wife Mary is alive and she is waiting for you at that special place which is Silent Hill. When James first visit's Silent Hill he notices alot of things and has to uncover the truth is his wife Mary really dead?
Gameplay- If you played games like Resident Evil series it's abit simular but less guns and zombies in the area. There are few weapons which you'll use alot to fight enimies or bosses first your carrying a plank of wood and next your carrying a shotgun which probably use's more damage to bosses. Halfway through the game if you find a giant knife you can use it as a weapon but you'll be attacking really slow because it is a strong weapon to use but it's heavey to handle.
Like other Horror games there are always puzzles un the game which some can make you go crazy, yes Silent Hill 2 has alot of riddles and puzzles where you'll have to think about it. If your completly stuck on puzzles odds are you'll be looking on the internet on a walkthrough guide.
Graphics and Sound- If you have played through a Silent Hill game you'll know what the graphics are like for each game in the series. But if your new to the series the graphics for Silent Hill 2 are bit simluar to Resident Evil Code Veronica but more clearer but there is alot of blood and guts you would have to have a strong stomach if you want to play a good Horror game. But the voice acting is pretty impressive I think Eddie's voice was the best but completly thick and dumb but he's gets abit crazy and serious near the end of the game.
Music has been compossed really well for a Horror game but you'll be hearing alot of screeching noises or micophone screeches bt it's mostly enimies coming around the corner trying to scare you.
Overall- Once you beat the game you can play as Maria and see what see was up to during the events before or after James entered Silent Hill. I cleared found the game amazing. No matter how many times you beat the game your just speechless and you clearly don't know what to say even if you played the game a million times you certainly don't know what to say to a friend on how good Silent Hill 2 was.
