I remember the days years ago when I would play this game with my friends. We would get into fierce competitions in battle mode or helping eachother out in GP we had alot of fun. This game really made the racing genre popular infact you can probably thank it for 99% of the racing games on the market today, and about 60% of those are rip-offs. Let's start with what made this racing game different. First off the items let you "sabotage" the racer infront of you, or behind you whatever the case may be. With the exceptions of mushrooms, feather, and stars which gave you a speed burst, jump ability, and invincibility respectively. The GP mode was an intense race against 6-7 cpu characters depending on if you were playing one or two player mode. All and all this game is nothing short of classic perfection.... 10.0 is my score for this game.
