Interestingly different

Side scrolling through towns and dungeons may not seem very impressive, Valkyrie Profile 2 handles it very well.
Mind boggling puzzles will have you looking up videos on Youtube before long, and I think that sucks.
The battle system resembles that of the original, assign a button to a character, and press the button to make them attack.
But theres more to it than that, you must lead the party towards the enemy while trying to avoid enemy attacks in order to attack.
You are able to split the party into two groups and use learned spells and possessed items.
Certain attacks specific body parts and breaking those sometimes yields powerful items.
The game will prove difficult if you rely only on past RPG knowledge, this game practically abandons the whole Level up and go pwn everything.
Relying more on your equipped skills and equipment.
I learned that the hard way.
The story is nothing short of fantastic, set hundreds of years before the original,...nah, I won't spoil it.
The vast amount of characters will have you splitting your head trying to decide who to put into your party!
Einherjar, soldiers chosen by Silmeria Valkyrie during her unseen adventures when she lived as Valkyrie, are found throughout dungeons inside relics, but there may be various Einherjar inside a single relic.
Some are better than others but its all up to preference.
But in the end, this game is simply great, it gives you something new, while a little of the old, the game is very funny at some points while sad at others, handling it magnificently...if only Star Ocean 3 were that way...
