Love the new format, Jess. I'll be pushing to finish the 'Long War' version of X-Com in time for the next release :)

A suggestion for an upcoming Gist: how about a list of games that SHOULD have had their release delayed? Ones that suffered for a lack of polish, perhaps?

I think I'm going to pre-order X-com 2 today... I have a hard time seeing a way they screw that game up, even if they change nothing from the original. Also, today it's on sale for $48 on the Golden Joystick Store.

The delayed to 2016 games I'm most looking forward to playing are FF XV and The Last Guardian although there's no telling whether we'll actually get to see The Last Guardian this year at all. What are Team Ico up to?

@sscott0829tw: Too late. Go and look at the recent videos/topics regarding the game and you'll see why it isn't going to be the powerhouse game it was supposed to be. Two years of delays have not boded well for The Division.

@gotrekfabian: not sure I agree with that...I played the alpha, game looked great...the recent announcement that they are focusing on a 1 to 1 look of mid town NYC is hardly a bad thing...plus, all the other Burroughs will be released as dlc, free in some cases...how is free dlc bad??

@gamersince78: Free DLC is no bad thing, of course. The issue there is that it is being released as an incomplete game, much like Destiny was, in order to keep people playing longer and to reduce the amount of effort they would have to put into making further content in the future. I was very intrigued and somewhat excited by this when first revealed but, as time goes by, it just seems to be becoming a mundane shooter with little to distinguish itself by amongst the mass of others out there.

I guess we shall have to wait until release how good or bad this is though.

PS Alpha and Beta gameplay are not always good to go on, I have played a good number of these and, more often than not, the game becomes a somewhat different beast to the alpha/beta.

The 5 delayed games that I'm most excited about for this year in no particular order.

Persona 5 - Feels like we've been waiting for this one for an eternity

Zero Escape 3 - A game that almost never happened

Bravely Second: End Layer - if they fix it so you don't have to deliberately be pants on head retarded to get the true ending.

Dark Souls 3 - Don't know if it has been delayed before or not, but whatever. It makes this list.

Witcher 3 Blood and Wine expansion - If the main game was delayed, which it was, that means the expansion was delayed. Can't wait for more Witchering!

I like that the style of the new Gist is following in the footsteps of Danny's handheld content. No need to be married to a slider or tripod when simple, real handheld works too. I like that Gamespot tries new filming formats for their content. Looks like a fun place to work.
