Call of Duty: Ghosts Graphics Comparison

I notice that when I do a fresh install and block patches and updates COD Ghosts looks much much better on Ultra settings. And when I run the latest patch Ultra looks like medium did before the patch. So I just block updates. I have basically a 7870 with my R9 270 so it does fine with Ultra with no patch. So that is how they optimized it? They downgraded the graphics? Figures!

From what I noticed is ps4 version does look better xbox one does not look so great and I have played them on both systems I have xbone and my friend has ps4 we compared them both on same tv xbox looked pretty disappointing. maybe it is the resolution difference but we can definitely tell the difference forget trying to watching videos for the comparison because that will never show it properly unless you personally see it with your own eyes right in front of you on a 50 inch led tv.

it's disappointing to see so may launch games for next gen consoles also being for current gen. I can understand them wanting to appeal to a larger audience with the release of their new games, but doing so also vastly underrates the capabilities of the next gen consoles. the release of games to come in the spring will be more exciting. watching gameplay footage for games like Destiny, The Division, and Thief really show off what the next gen systems can do, graphics wise. I can only imagine they will look better a year or two down the road when devs truly get a grasp on what they can do with the next gen hardware. it's the same song and dance with what we saw at the start of last gens lifes span to now. Look at CoD 3 vs Ghosts...there's a huge difference, yet the same console. things will get better, people just need patience. a trait greatly lost among online posters.

Interesting that you don't include the WiiU version, which runs and looks much better than PS3/ 360. It's like you guys are trying to make it seem worse sometimes.

Graphics wise

To me they all look around the same which is the problem with cross Gen games as we will not see what the new gen of consoles can do for a year or two.

PCF gaming is cheap when everybody owns a PC. PC + gaming upgrade cost is roughly the same as buying a PC and a console so buying a console or gaming PC is largely a matter of whether you want to game on your PC or in your lounge.

What we see on console in a couple of years will indicate how long this generation of consoles will last. If this game is any real indication of PS4/XBone power the gen will be short and sweet but it isn't so we wait and see. Another thing that will accelerate the release of the next gen after this years releases could also be a matter of 4K or 8K TV takeup which will make 1080P video look very grainy quickly.

I will still buy games for the 360 for the foreseeable future as I use multiple consoles as Media Centre Extenders so I have a few which can conveniently play games on all of my houses TVs. I find it easier to run a network cable than a new TV antenna cable and even easier to use wireless.

Two things become apparent to me from watching this video:

(1) Nothing can touch a gaming PC in terms of graphical capability.

(2) The XBOX 360 and PlayStation 3 have a lot of life left in them, and I suspect game support to continue for a long time. This will be very different than 2005-6 when support for older consoles stopped almost immediately.

the developer said that call of duty ghost on ps4 runs at 720p , but they released a patch that fixed it, that it was a settings misstake on there side.. så this video is not right with ps4s resolution..

pc is always going to be the best and will always stay the best regardless of what consoles update their junk with.

i think the ps4 and xbo are both disappointing as releases especially with AMD attached to them like viruses.

im gonna stick with my pc and xbox 360. wont be getting either consoles this time round unless really needed, plus most pf the titles gonna hit the pc anyways.

since i made up helluva PC gaming rig everything has been changed out , games like COD' look better than i figure out , loaded with dx11 res 1920x1080 .. updates of games or drivers will be welcome without digging through in other way , but in fact i loved PS series

ok i had made a comment about the pc guys gamma brightness but now that iv actualy played it i understand...ps4 version is with complete settings and the pc version is locked on medium or high depending on your machine specs for textures and whatnots...so i apologize this just sucks whens the patch coming out!..i think its a conspiracy to make consoles look better...

ps3 n xbox looks the same, ps4 looks a bit better then the other two n pc looks the best

Wow, I couldn't believe how much sharper the PC looked. I thought it would at least be close. PS3/360, identical, a couple of areas where one looked better than the other. I'm pretty sure they are 100% identical, with a point of view making it look like a graphical difference.

I'm not disappointed in the PS4, I know it's early in the life cycle and the game was designed for a ps3/360 experience (which is probably why 720p upconverted to 1080 won't look that much different), but it really didn't look much better than the ps3. Then again, I remember saying this exact same thing about the 360 when it first came out (that it wasn't better than the xbox).

This is a good comparison, and I'm glad to know that titles like this will be played on PC for myself.

I couldn't play COD Ghosts not because I hate COD inwhich I don't its ok for what it does but I do strongly dislike dogs. Having that thing follow me around and barking all the time would drive me insane.

My only problem is that a NEXT GEN should not be able to run on a CURRENT GEN system. Meaning AC4 is still the very exact same game on all systems, no matter if graphics are better or not. It plays the same, the structure of the game is the same.

However, the 2k14 NBA game is a vastly different game than Current Gen....new modes, new models, new gameplay physics, and the only reason why it some how plays similar is because its based on a sport with rules, and rhythm.

PS4 and PC look about identical other than the contrast/bloom settings.

pc version still looks best. goddamit...

well xbox360 one looks better than ps3, and no matter what you do PC will always give better fps and graphics.

Yea BF4 has better graphics, but this is the 1st time since COD 4 that i like the graphics again, and in the best plataform PC, but the ps4 looks excelent meaby xbone will too but im happy because i dont have an ps4 or xbone and i pass it in the best graphics posible ps4 is in the same level but sorry mouse and keyboard dor me

Sad that the PS360 versions hold 60fps better than the PS4. I have the PC version and it's got some serious issues too. It's like the newer graphical features weren't implemented very well.

It's great to see consoles stepping up their game, but I'm still hesitant to buy one. With 4K TVs out, and PCs with sub-$200 video cards running higher resolutions, sharper textures, higher framerates and more advanced lighting and effects than next-gen consoles, it's hard to justify getting a next gen console other than a few good exclusives. These online videos definitely don't do the PC justice as the video quality isn't good enough to showcase the PC.

I already know that the PS4/X1/PC versions will look best. What I want to know is how the Wii U version will stack up. Will it look closer to the next gen consoles, or closer to the current gen (PS3/360)?

That is the most important one to watch.

PS3 doesn't look WOW different than the PS4. Both the XBOX ONE have PS4 have dips in FPS and COD looks BLAH. This probably be very fed games that are 1080p native for the PS4. When XBOX 360 and PS3 came out 1080p was relatively new, affordable and 720p wasn't a huge difference. Now XBOX ONE and PS4 are coming out at the end of 1080p life cycle and neither can handle 1080p well.

the 360's got slightly better textures than ps3, so they clearly developed on 360, but pc and ps4 win in terms of lighting and draw distance. I think after they stop using this engine to make it current gen friendly, it wont look as crappy anymore. I really don't think there's been a difference in call of duty graphics since black ops 1

The 360/PS3 were the same and the PC/PS4 were the same. You can look closely with these side by side comparisons and your eye will pick out a little thing here and a little thing there, but play it on one platform, then go to a friends house and play it on a different platform and you will not notice any change, unless of course you go cross-generational.

It seems to me like we are hitting a ceiling of what we can render. Ghosts on PC looks good, but does it really look better that Crysis 1? A 6-year old game? Sure it has more particle effects and better physics, but from what I see, the overall graphics really isn't improved after all this time.
