Good stuff, too expensive, can't afford it, and don't know who can.

But good stuff nonetheless. This is the sort of thing that pushes tech- it's not perfect and it is pricey but the tech is there.

@wallydog63 Posted Jan 13, 2012 4:39 am GMT -12 Zanderzane I for one an a pc player and the only console I own is for my daughter. I wont even play against her because I hate them so much. I know tons of pc players who wont touch a console. Personally I think 666 is inscribed on them all. But you are also right that unless you've got money to burn, that is an awfully steep price tag. I upgraded my pc to top of the line for that price. It's a good start though. With time they'll come down in price and then we'll think about getting one. ************************************************************** I played both PC and consoles games. I played a lot of PC games back in the late 80's early 90's. Once the PS2 and XBox got released, I was most game consoles. I only reverted back to PC's to play games like Neverwinter Nights, FF XI, Asheron's Call 2, Guild Wars, World of Warcraft and Planetside. I'm currently getting ready to build a new PC just so I can play Diablo 3, Planetside 2 and give The Old Republic a 30 day try. That's about it though. I'd rather play just about everything else on game consoles.

All they need to do now is: 1. Make the controllers detachable. 2. Make the battery life last more than 20 minutes. (5 hours or more hopefully). 3. Make it so that it won't overheat. 4. Make it so that you can sync your pc saves with the device. and I'm sold!

I like how unlike apple, they've actually made this tablet compatable with existing plugs. For christ's sake the ipad can't even run a simple usb device.

For a $1000 I can either buy 2 iPad 2's, 4 PS Vitas, or a real gaming laptop.Once again it seems like Min has designed a product made affordable for really only himself.

This is a really good idea, but I dont think they thought it all the way through. If the controllers were detachable so it could be used like a normal tablet and if the battery life doesnt completely suck (which it will Im sure) and if it is indeed upgradeable (which I doubt it is). this would be an amazing peice of hardware. But in 3yrs time you wont be able to play the best PC games on it because the hardware is out of date... I honestly think this is the way to head for the future but then again you want portability and this starts to become bulky.

I can't see this succeed as a new format besides portables (PS Vita, 3DS) and consoles (X360, PS3, Wii) especially now that portables are struggling to sell like their predecessors due to the rise of smartphones. It seems to me that people buy a tablet for a great many things (basically as accessible PC for quick PC functions). Few people (besides us hardcore gamers here) would want a tablet with two thumbsticks on the side. However with the rise of tablet PCs I think it would be a smart move to seperatly sell those thumb stick controllers. With Windows 8 tablets comming this year it won't be long until many people have tablets that are capable of running all the great PC games. Than having these (detachable) controllers would be a great gimmick. It won't replace PC gaming but it would a nice thing to have on the side. But actually buying a tablet with controllers attached to it for a high price,... I just don't see it succeed.

@XanderZane I think he was talking about games that appear on both PC and consoles, in response to the other person who said "who plays games on PC that can be played on a console?" I wouldn't say "everyone", but it also depends on the game. If you have a PC that can play BF3, why would you buy the console version when it's so much better on the PC? I know I wouldn't.

I think its a great innovation. And to me this seems to be an attempt by Razer to test what can be done with the Tablet with today's technology. And I have to say they have succeeded in theory and practice. But will it last? It might work great as a portable version of the console but with more selection as you can use Steam. To me that alone opens up possibilities for gaming add to that Win 8's functionality and its add-ons, This could be the best bet for a gaming tablet with all the add ons a PC already has. To me current consoles probably on paper just about matches this device's technical capabilities (for the screen size, resolution and refresh rate, This is running high resolution on a smaller screen but seems to be very smooth refresh rate). Since its a device that's still a working concept, I believe it will out-do the console in the long run because of portability, As everyone says, Price is the issue at hand. Al ot of people said the same thing about the iPad and look where we are? Don't get me wrong, We will still have consoles but this could have chunk of their market share. It can work in my view.

Button layout on that thing is terrible. They need to be arranged more like a console controller. It looks cool, and I can see the appeal of playing on a portable device with a larger screen and faster processor, but as a tablet it will suck, because it's not going to have decent battery life, and be way too expensive. For a thousand bucks, you could build a PC that kicks the crap out of this (including a much bigger monitor).

@RAGEofSTUNTS I couldn't help but think of the playstation move controller. *************************************************************** That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the controllers as well, except it's missing the glowing bulb. There's too many cons with this thing. Kind of like the Kindle.

@jidvthe2 everyone picks pc over console, i'm sorry. ******************************************************** Who's everyone? lol!! Most PC gamers own game consoles and have since the Atari 2600. I know many gamers who play nothing but console and portable games. Sorry, but you're wrong. As for this tablet, he says it can do anything like a PC, but it can't access the internet? This is like the PC version of a portable handheld. We need a lot more information though. How much memory does it hold. Does it support Steam? The cost is way to high. Most PC gamers won't pay $1000 for this. If it was $500 or less people might byte. This seems aim more toward Apple gamers, but it's running Windows 8, so they won't buy it either. lol!! If it actually gets released at the end of the year, expect a large price cut in 2013. It's also too bulky. not being able to detach the controllers is a bad thing. There should be a wireless controller and stand attachment as well. Oh well. Good try, but at least they have a year to fix all the mistakes.

Sounds great!!! but for US$1,000.00 i prefer to upgrade my pc for games. If it had internet, the option to detach those controls and it being a "tablet pc"... i might consider it for more than gaming.

i play games alot and its during travel when i use my handheld devices! i bought psp go last year and was most disappointed with its performance in charge time.....ONLY 3-3.5 HOURS OF GAME-PLAY?? thats just too less cuz my travels r long like say ona and a half days..!!! so the only thing i want from this is an extremely efficient battery so gamers can have a good time traveling!! and moreover this is goin' down if they dunn give away atleast a free game with the console!! who on earth would spend 25-30 more bucks for just a game?? after spending a thousand bucks on the console itself!!

I would very much like to have a tablet that allows me to play proper pc games at work or when traveling, but with mouse and maybe a small keypad instead of those consolish controls. And yes, there are people who earn enough to spend a 1000 dollars for a thing like that, just for fun.

It's a fine product. I think it's a boon to anyone who wants to play PC games on the go. Ok, maybe not die-hard mouse-keyboard PC games. I myself think FPS on a controller is crazy. But hey, most current gen PC games are cross-platform anyway, so why not. I hope this adds a bit to the resurgence of PC gaming. I won't need this device personally, but I hope it does well.

@Flaon HAHA Dude you got screwed. Bigtime. Who the hell spends that much money on a laptop? Oh right... people who haven't done any product research prior to dropping a wad of cash on something that just has more lights on it... Secondly if you're also spending that much for a desktop PC you're once again just pissing money away... Last but not least, CryEngine 3 is a LESSER engine than its predecessor... You honestly have no idea about anything you're talking about and have absolutely no place to call other people complete morons.

this is an amazing piece of hardware right here, now for those complete morons saying buy a good laptop instead you are all retards, a good gaming laptop that plays everything will cost in between $3000-$5000 and this amazing contraption can play everything for $1000, I payed $3000 for a laptop 2 years ago and it overheats like crazy and crashes when I try to play a CryEngine 2 game so if this device can play CryEngine 3 without any issues then that's $1000 worth spending, not to mention you could probably hook it up to an HDMI cable and play it on a big TV with a Mouse and Keyboard attached, who would need to fork out $2000 for a good desktop anymore when this thing does the same thing but without the crap that computers give you, wow I never knew there were so many cheap pricks in the world, it will probably be $1000 in the US but in Australia where everything's expensive it will probably cost up to $2500 so quit you're damn complaining about the price and admit that this is the best gaming device ever made.
