What's new? The developers can exploit the console, or attempt to, since everyone has the same hardware package. Not everyone has the latest and greatest hardware for the PC, so they have to deal with generalities in hardware.

I think Free To Play can be good if done well, like Path of Exile and Dota 2 (just recently got into both).

And the Gaystation is awesome. There's just no way to argue otherwise

This PlayStation respray is rather interesting. I'm all for raising money for charities, but calling it the "GayStation" seems rather demeaning, at least to me. Oh well, not my place to say that I guess. I agree to an extent about the F2P games, however I don't think they have quite as much of an impact as John was implying. I can't think of many people who sit around and play F2P games all day. If you make a good (paid) game, people are going to buy it regardless of the F2P melting pot that is out there. On a sidenote about PCs: yes they typically are better (opinion, subjective) than consoles, but to say they are "killing" consoles is somewhat naïve. I don't know that just because they are better makes them more popular. Lots of people prefer consoles just for the ease of access / loading games, etc. Anyways, I recently purchased a Dell 8700 and all I can say is that there's no going back...

I expect the rainbow Gheystation to be very popular among the fans, being the charitable and merry bunch that they are.

Free to play wont and shouldn't be the future of gaming. While I do enjoy Mechwarrior Online, Ghost Recon Online, and other such titles that are free to play, I put way less time into those then I would any other fully offered title. The reason for this is that if you were to play a free to play title and fully experience it you would be paying WELL over the actual amount of a fully developed game such as Dark Souls, or Call of Duty. (not saying those two belong together trust me). I do feel however, Free to Play can and should be a major player in the gaming community as it does allow gamers to enjoy games without shelling out the cash when they really wouldn't put that much time or effort into it, hence missing out on the items available for purchase would not be missed. While other who put a good amount or a lot of time benefit from putting the money into the game. Free to Play doesn't offer enough to the everday gamer right out of the box to be the main model, but is substantial enough to be a nice alternative and great money grower for developers.

I wonder what data Romero has showing that PCs are killing every tenth console?

Diversity is what makes gaming so fun, please do not try to make it all one way.

A lot of what Romero said about the PC was true, but not sure what he meant by decimating. While indies and early access and sales and bundles are generating a lot of revenue with probably high margins, I'm pretty sure on a per title basis for multi-platform the consoles are still blowing PC sales away.

As a cheaper option I think I'd rather take my laptop outside after rainfall and maybe see a rainbow. Prefer the previously mentioned white PS4.
