It seems the Xbox One is useless without access to the Microsoft servers, so if they get shut down, you lose your Internet or you get banned from Xbox live you have a brick.

smarter on wanting quality, but not richer. quality can be upgraded on the present systems, why isn't that being offered by both companies.

Gamers are suckers and both companies know it. Both systems have abilities that will never or seldomly be used. Thus adding to the cost I hope nobody buys forcing some effort to be made to upgrade the systems we now have. How many remember when computers had to be new but eventually, people said no more. Now PCs are easily upgraded. I now say 'no more'.

@cracktower Just a regular shitty out of the box pc from Dell will cost the same as a Xbox One. Just for a decent video card it's gonna be half the price (if the Xbox and PS4 are $500) then you have to add all the other components like a motherboard, ram and so on. I don't know where you get your computer parts but a decent gaming pc is gonna run double the cost (at least $1000) of the next generation consoles.

The software costs $60 a pop with no-resale value.. The console requires online connection and a internet service provider account which also costs money. I'm wondering if Microsoft will still charge for Xbox Live gold. If so then it seems like a product which should be given away for free as it has so many additional costs and restricted usages.

It may be early, but everything I've seen and read about XBOX ONE is forcing me to Sony. I was looking forward to MS's reveal and expected to get an XBOX ONE, but with the wrong casual focus and corporate confusion/bad decisions, I refuse to by XBOX ONE. It's a train wreck. Why? My guess is arrogance. MS thought it could make anything (charging as much as they wanted... invading privacy as much as they wanted) and people would buy it. Crazy. PS4 seems much more gamer-centric and Sony seems to actually be listening to users and developers. MS just made a costly ad campaign for PS4/Sony.

@cracktower ps4 is more powerful than xbox1, and you want them to port the games to pc from xbox1 ? doesnt make sense, plus open gl runs much better than direct x in most cases.
