DayZ creator angry about The War Z

Aren't both of these games plagued by player camping issues and micro-transaction fleecing? I just don't see the appeal for either in their current state...

tired of seeing articles about this guy bitching about the war z. he is probably getting paid a fairly large sum to head up the day z project for bohemia, so he just needs to suck it up and stop being a baby. if he cant take this level of scrutiny he really does need to leave game development. what will happen when he makes his first "poor" game? will he kill himself?

Sue the guy and make him change the name or scrap The War Z altogether... It's not a hard concept. Quit game development? Boo hoo...

Stuff like this pisses me off. It's like the developer in China that hides behind Chinese copyright loopholes while making a TF2 ripoff.

I feel really sorry for this guy honestly, his name has been tarnished by the actions of unprofessional, uncreative, dishonest, lazy developers who were looking to make a quick buck off of the industry through poor quality work, lying, and stealing other people's ideas. I haven't played DayZ (I don't own Arma II), but I can say it looks like damn good game made by someone who actually cares about making a good game and plan on buying it on release. The War Z is just the work of (excuse my language) total ***holes.

Hall ain't got much to worry about though. War z looks like epic fail from a screenshot let alone a video, and Dayz will always be 10x better simply from an engine standpoint.

Seriously this guy needs to quit crying over everything. He's made a hugely popular mod which has been very successful and well received and now has the opportunity to make it a stand alone game. But all I've heard from him is "waaaah WarZ sounds similar to DayZ and people are accusing me of making WarZ BAAAAAW". His main competitor has shot themselves in the foot by making a terrible, buggy and broken game, he should be happy he's now alone to make a game to fit the niche.

Well, at least The War Z is giving DayZ more publicity. It may not be altogether good publicity, but still. I had never heard of DayZ until all this controversy about The War Z came out.

As much as I disliked both games, I disliked Warz much more. Dayz was at least a challenge compared to Warz.

Well at least there's a video here comparing the two games because otherwise I'd have NO IDEA about the difference between the two.

And yeah, if you want it to be a good brand then give it a name that DOESN'T sound extremely generic.

This kinda crap happens in all industry's Dean. GET OVER IT ALREADY! Adapt, Survive, and strive to create a better product. If your main concern is brand recognition then just change that damn generic "DayZ" title name.

When I heard that War Z was not connected to Day Z in any way, I was stunned. It's like me making a game called "Super Lario Brothers", about a team of two brothers that rescue a princess by jumping.

Someone should sue Titov in my opinion, false advertising is straight out illegal in most countries.

I sense a law suite coming along...

I haven't played either games, but at first glance it seems the Day Z devs are trying to make a quality product and they care both for the quality of their game and what they give to their community, where as the War Z devs only wanted to make their little sandbox.

This guy wouldn't be pissing himself if War Z turned out to be a hit.The bastard'd be happy ; ).

I genuinely feel bad for Dean.

Titov is a f***ing c*nt and he represents everything that is wrong with the industry. I genuinely hate him and hope that this controversy kills his career as a "game developer" for good.

Sad sad story... This guy cries too much... If it hadn't been for WarZ, DayZ dev team wouldn't have been pushed to work on a standalone... It's a good thing dev's copy off each other, like I've said before, it's what fuels dev's to make "their" game the better one. WarZ has potential, given Hammerpoint delivers, but that's all WarZ is at the moment. I think Hall needs to stop fearing WarZ, a game that has potential but a lot of promises usually never ends up being anything close to expectations.

I hope Dean and his team make a retail game that's far better than WarZ, which honestly, shouldn't be that hard considering WarZ is shit.

Will someone please tell this guy to stop crying, man up and stop letting these crap Hammerpoint devs determine his future in gaming development. I mean seriously, if you had nothing to do with that scam of a game, WarZ, then act like it and come out with something 10x better.

I think everyone is angry at War Z.
