Dozens added to 360 backward-compatibility list

Psychonauts is on the list! Booyah!!! Now all of you who slept on this gem the first time around should go get it...NOW!!!

That`s quite a big list. Bravo, m$! But why is the compatibility update only for certain region on some games? Aren`t the versions of a game supposed to be the same, only with different text/voices? I don`t think the source code changes from one version to another, so why is there updates only for certain versions of games?

Wow still no Chronicles of Riddick or Unreal Championship. Atleast finally fr cry is on there. Should have done it earlier instead of ubisoft ruining the game,scorewise

This is a dumb question probably but, Iv had my 360 for about a year now and i dont us it to play my xbox games i still use my xbox for that, but if I have a game for xbox that is xbox live enabled can you play that xbox game online on the 360? thanks for the help.

that is great news now because Psychonauts is one f the best Xbox games and one of the best platformers to come out in the last several years and now it is compatible with the 360 make me going to play it again because it is funny and just plain delightful to play. also, shenmue 2 is on there and I love that game also and it just a shame that shenmue 3 never saw the light of day but hope it does because the series NEEDS to have a proper ending/

I also petitioned for the game to be released on the Xbox 360. I didn't much care for DOA4, but I loved DOA:U, so Im glad to be able to play that now. I was happy to play Burnout 3 on Xbox 360, it's the only game my sister and nephew are also really into, so I hope the new update makes the experience even better.

I was one of them that mailed Microsoft about Psychonauts ;-) I will by my copy of Psychonauts as soon as possible to play in my xbox360, I didn't played it when I had an xbox. ;-)

alimn1984, I agree with you 100%. I will never forget my experience playing through Shenmue 1 on Dreamcast. One of the greatest video game series ever and i wish they had made a 3rd to finish off the trilogy.

It's great to see Soul Caliber up there, but it's hard to not to think of games missing like Midnight Club... all that said I can't help but get somewhat sour when I remember that MS didn't go full backwards compatible... I knew that when I bought the system, and I still love the 360, but it was a stupid thing for them to leave out.

Conkers should have been there from the start. Nice to see Microsoft still cares about the old games :)

Wow, 95% of those games are aimed at casuals and last time I checked, casuals weren't really that bothered with backwards compatabilty. if Microsoft had just said the 360 wasn't going to be backwards compatable then it would have been a hell of a lot better than just putting a bunch of games for casuals on the list and saying the 360 is backwards compatable. At least then eople would know that they should keep thier old XBox around to play the old games. Shame too since there are ton of XBox games on not on the list that I would like to play too. Only game i really care about on that list is Psychonauts but I can get it on the PS2 or Gamecube for a fraction of the cost.

Hmm, only seven titles that I give half a damn about. Not that I'm complaining. I mean, I can't speak for anyone else, but The Incredibles totally gets my rocks off over that lame Riddick game. Wheres Riddick, Beyond Good and Evil, Panzer Dragoon, and Jet Set Radio Future. So instead we get Shark Tale, Pariah, Scarface, Open Season, Dynasty Warriors 4, and Leisure Suit Larry. Why even Bother.

Do any of you PS3 fanboys know what kind of work it takes to get an Xbox game running on 360? Each game has to have an emulator and the graphics code has to be reworked for the ATI chipset rather than the NVidia set. That takes time...and if youre so worried about BC, then shut up and go buy a used Xbox.

Havoc19 People should be more thankful there are any backward compatible games at all. Whine whine, riddick this, mech that. Play them on your regular Xbox, or get over it. All the 360 needed compatible was Fable, Halos, and KOTORs. Plenty. errm, maybe some people didnt own original xbox's? dont be so ignorant. It wouldn't be a big deal if Microsoft hadn't promised it in the first place.
