Elder Scrolls Online confirmed for 2013

I actually don't like the whole prequel trend though. It's a little annoying to know what's going to happen in the future regardless of what you do in the game.

pleasepleaseplease dont let it be a hotbutton smashathon. oh please just give us real time point and click combat and make us aim our arrows and spells.

well, why the hell not. this is one of the only games my friend has, and if we can venture out into the wild together, well,... that will rock!

finally, I was waiting for these devs to turn ES into an MMO. Its obviously the way of the future. In this day and age, the only reason Skyrim underwhelmed was because - although it was a gorgeous game dont get me wrong - Im so used to interacting with other people while playing games that - unless u have a friend with you - the game somehow felt hollow and lifeless. I just cant explain it... Im excited I hope this turns out good. But I agree with some of the earlier posts too - I hope they handle it with care and dont attempt to cash in on the mmo wave.

can't help but feel this is a move connected to the desperate bid not to loose money on second hand games and make everything online, but then I am a cynical wee monkey...

Terrible, I couldn't be more disappointed. This is worse then when I heard FF XI was going to be an MMO...

If there has to be an MMO, then i'm glad they made a wonderful choice in NOT being a sequel to the current events of Skyrim. Instead we'll be playing in what appears to be the Second era perhaps? That's a great time period for an MMO because it will not conflict much with any of the other TES. Also, it was turbulent time if I recall from the lore in the games. So it does fit well.

Dear God, this actually sounds awesome. As a hardcore Elder Scrolls fan, being able to go all over Tamriel will be epic. I can tell from now that this will be my first MMORPG. Take my money Bethesda.

surely they should learn from Final Fantasy.... Elder Scrolls is awesome for all the things that don't really work in MMORPGs, like plot... lol

We asked for co-op, they gave us an MMO...no exactly what we had in mind...

I'd NEVER play a Bethesda MMO.Don't take me wrong, they make good RPGs and they allow the comunity to mess with their engine, and that gives us great mods and extra content.

But their tech guys are terribad, NO Bethesda game is launched in playable state and most have bugs years after launch. Unless they team up with someone with real tech expertise there's no way this is not the end of Bethesda (cause MMOs cost millions to make and often bury the companies that try and fail).

For the love of... does EVERYTHING need to be online now?

ES saga is my favorite offline RPG, you turn it online I provably won't be interested anymore.

Hey, if they make a cool sandboxey MMO, I definitely will want to play some ESO!!! I just hope it's not another sandbox as always, but since they got the DAOC dude there, this could be pretty awesome. :)

Looks like Bethesda is going the Square-Enix route. They should stick to what they do best. I can see this title falling flat on its face.

the game is great as it is....do not know how will be the multiplayer experience in this master piece, but I need to see this how it comes.....

Well as long as another studio makes the game and Bethedsa still rolls out more SP Elder Scrolls games in the future then I am up for it. Who knows might be awesome.

I replied to someone else but it made sence for everyone to see. "My only thought is that if they do continue to make stand alone Elder Scrolls games they won't be as deep or as "polished" (I've never had any problems, pre or post update) as Skyrim cause the team will have to be split between taking care of the MMO and developing the new game."

have my doubts about this and think the story was leaked a week ago but nice to have it in the open but still..a MMO...ugh

Consider me curious, but given that it will almost certainly have a monthly fee which I cannot justify with the number of games I play a month and the little time I have with work and a family, I'll probably pass. A first-person MMORPG that actually makes an effort to be a living, breathing world in the tradition of the Elder Scrolls games is an interesting prospect though.

Hmmmm interesting! I would rather there just be integrated multiplayer or something but if done right this can be epic!

I'm curious if there will be player housing and professions.. could make for an interesting and dynamic gameworld..

Allthough I'm feeling a bit sad by this, I'm just too big of a fan of the elder scrolls to ignore it..

I'm not a hater against the PC but I hope they make this for the 360 as well, though I know it is hard to make a MMO on the console.

I'll wait until I hear more about it before dismissing it completely. However, if it sounds good, I may have to reevaluate my anti-MMO stance.

This could be very good, but could also be very bad...I love the Elder Scrolls series and I wouldn't mind seeing an MMO, I just don't want a repeat of what happened with the Warcraft series; I still want my single player TES games too.
