Id faces fourth Doom

OMG I can't even imagine how looooooooong we will wait for this game. Probably doom 4 will arrive after the launch of next xbox and playstation)

sweeeeeet...doom 3 was THE game to play after switching off the lights,lighting up a jagermeister & guzzling down a coupla red bulls...i couldnt sleep for a week!! doom 4 will be sick.......

well, it is good news but then again, I find that the Doom Premise has already been overused... the... experiment failure and then all hell breaks loose formula has already been overused... wish there was something more though...

Oh man, that is such great news. i have doom 3 and quake 4, and they are absolutely amazing! I hope it comes out soon! Long live doom and quake!

I hope they dont dumb down the secret locations, items, and the enemies like they did in Doom 3. Granted I liked the higher resolution, but it certainly did not play like its earlier brethren. Doom 3 was the most boring doom I had ever played.

best news i heard all year. i loved all doom games. and id are gaming gods. im not gona think about buying its already sold me already. proper grown up shooter with blood and gore, just how they should be made.

Doom 3 was a revolutionary game at the time, i hope this one make DooM get even better. And please, if is not ask too much, more GORE! =D

Well I probably aint in the "know" to say this. But I thought Doom3 was good, but even though F.E.A.R is a new game compared to the Doom world, I thought F.E.A.R was a much better game in terms of how they pulled off the horror and scarey factors, and generally the whole game. I aint played the other Doom's but i'm just comparing those. :\.. I'm not saying Doom3 was bad, but I didn't think it was all that great. Although that said, I think Doom4 will be a great game to play :)

Hopefully they spend more time on making the multiplayer better than it was in Doom III and that because it's a mutli-port wont have a detrimental effect on the pc version.

So excited about this. Doom 3 was a great horror shooter. Maybe they'll go back to the old style.

I still have doom 3 for pc. last time I played it was 3 years ago.

Loved Doom 3 (and all before) I just hope this comes to 360.

I hope that A) ID learned their lesson about "monster closets" and gets back to a little of sophistication in their AI and level design in Doom4, and B) this marks a return of ID to the middleware sector....the only reason why the steaming pile that is UE3 is where it is today is because of the lack of competition.

Prefer Doom to Quake...hopefully this gets the PS3/Xbox 360 treatment. And there isn't a wait from PC version to console.

Have to agree, enemies appearing behind is cheap AI. Doom 3 was NOTHING like the original doom games. In a sense it made fun of what doom was really about. Also, tight corridors is not what doom was about, action and open spaces was. Doom 3 didn't feel/connect well when you fought the enemies. If they don't keep it like it original was intended I'm not interested.

I hope they don't keep the flashlight separate from the gun this time. That was always stupid. Further, they could do better if they didn't try to scare the s-it out of you every 15 seconds...I felt like I was getting several mini heart attacks constantly while playing that game. I further hope that the new Doom is not just another rehash where they give a different engine but keep the same ol' story.

i played doom 3 on the xbox and i thought it was fantastic, this is a pleasant surprise for me i did not think they were going to make another doom, fantastic!

i think Doom 4 should just be made for the 360 and pc like it was when Doom 3 came out period!

Great news! Doom 4 and Rage will be one of the most innovative games, I'm sure about it.

Doom 3 was nothing special for me It was not even scary and the graphics was nothing amazing either Just shutting monsters with bad AI in narrow corridors with pixelated textures

d software are true innovators. Rage and Doom 4 sound like great ideas to me.

I loved Doom, I liked Doom II, I was impressed with Doom III and the RoE expansion. I can't wait for more exploration of the Doom universe.

I was just thinking about this the other day.... It's seems just the right time for another Doom.

Hopefully Doom will return to its truly hellish roots. Doom 3 had too much space station and not enough Hell. WE WANT HELL. WE WANT HELL!!!

DOOM 3 was not as bad as everyone thinks it was. I enjoyed it as it was a technological triumph back then. But, I dont think just "shoot em up" game will compete these years.

Yay, i knew it all along. I hope they use both daylight and night setting if Doom 4 sets on earth and more dynamic 'scare' scenes as we progress. And i want an AI squad battling 5+ fast zombies,current zombie is a poke fun goodness b/c its slow. Doom 4 is is my bet on next-gen scare fest

How much you wanna bet that the first new gun you will find is a shotgun with a flashlight ductaped to it, since there isn't any duct tape on mars :).

Meh... Same hallways and ladders throughout. Where's the next monster closet... Doom 3 became very repetetive. I'll wait and see for this one. Mind you, this opinion coming from someone that upgraded his 286 to 4mg of RAM to play DOOM.

So, think they will take advantage of that sweet Xbox Live PC/360 multiplayer cross platform options?

I hope they put in a co-op multiplayer mode like Doom3 on XBOX. Split Screen(PS3/360), LAN and Online should be included.

Did the third one even sell that well?
