Well, despite the fact that Kojima's promotion seems to be little more then tacking on Executive to it, if anyone deserves a promotion in the gaming industry right now its him. He was in many ways the man to create the stealth action genre. Without him, games like Splinter Cell may not exist today. Elements of his work have been used by countless other series as sources of inspiration for their own works and his story telling helped create the rich games we enjoy today. He is one of the few developers who can say, without pride or hubris, that he helped shape the current video game industry. He took a risk to create something no one had seen before and it became one of the most recognizable franchises in history. He deserves every award, promotion, and ounce of fame he gets for his work on the Metal Gear series and countless other games he has had his hand in.

Congratulations Kojima, you defiantly earned it!! MGS is one of, if not the best, game series I've ever played!

Congradulations, Mr. Kojima. You deserved it, and I hope that you future brings much prosperity, and promise, much like MGS has.

All it is, is Resident Evil 4 with the same exact gameplay, with Black People pasted over the Bad Guys, and They replaced Leon Kennedy with Chris Redfield. You can't run and shoot, you can't take cover, the voice acting was meh. Atleast in Gears of War and Metal Gear Solid 4 you could walk/jog and shot and play Deathmatch online for free.

Too bad for anyone who speaks against this, for this is the fact. The MGS Saga grown up with me, Kojima has proved his supremacy, and the world watched how he has changed the gaming industry. My respect goes to you Kojima.

Cograts to Hideo Kojima, MGS4 rocked and to silentsniper, MGS 2 was'nt "The worst", in your mind it may have been,but to the storyline itself it was very good, IMO. Every game has a beginning and an ending to them, MGS 3 was the beginning and MGS 4 was the ending, if you played the entire series in order, you'd have to play Metal Gear Solid 3; Snake Eater first, then MGS; Portable ops, then Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2; Sons Of Liberty and finally Metal gear Solid 4; Guns Of The Patriots.So with your comment silentsniper; "mgs2 was the worst in the series", in what way?, storyline or graphics wise, cause if your talking Graphics, then that wouldn't be fair to the MSX computer system

@10679 mgs3 and mgs4 were both classic games and amazing games and btw mgs2 was the worst in the series so you should stfu when you dont know what your ralking about

Didn't Kojima also have his hand in one of my favourite series...Zone of the Enders series? Those were great games as well. Kojima has made so many great masterpieces in his day and it's a shame that there aren't more developers like him out there. Congrats Hideo on your successes, new title, and upcoming award.

I believe developers like him are more needed in gaming industry then ever before. And whoever gets to work under him will emerge as a successful developer. His work is not just a video game but an ART. I don't care what others say. He has got 4.5 million numbers to prove it.

To those raining down on MGS4 for cutscenes, MGS has ALWAYS been about long cutscenes and codec calls. It's part of what makes it so endearing to fans. And to the guy comparing RE5 to MGS4 [though he says MGS5], it was success of MGS cutscenes that gave other devs courage to have longer cutscenes in their games. RE and MGS are my two top fav series, but for different reasons. Why not talk about RE5 gameplay, huh? RE5 is more about gameplay than story... MGS has ALWAYS been about story, and gameplay is woven around story.

what story ? the story summery is that every one is ill. other than that its unexplainable

he is the steven spielburg of videogames and deserves everything he gets, MGS4 was the best videogame ever made! The most detailed and intrecit storymode!
