Super Street Fighter IV confirmed for spring

...and they'll squeeze out more money

Let's re-release the game with a few new games and entitle it to another $60. Yeah, right. This game isn't even that great. >>;

Normally I would be completely ticked off, but I'm rather curious as to what that "bonus" for us who own SFIV already is... Of course I'm expecting it to be totally lame, but who knows. (hopefully costumes are included this time around!)

This probably means a lot of revising of the original SF4! :) Hope it comes out in the arcades too. It's a different feeling at an arcade. Will be exciting to see how the new additions fare in the next Evo.

Not buying it... DLC pack, yeah. Or I'll wait until it's like $10 on Amazon.. Used so to make sure Capcom doesn't get double dipped money for their double dipped game.

eww, they're doing this sort of thing again. I think the reason people are yelling 'milk' here is that the SF franchise has a cow history. sure it was quiet a while, but there are a number of games with minor differences that just plain aren't necessary. I'm not interested in ODST, but I understand it's at least a different experience from Halo 3.

wow people are b*tching about how this is ripping off yet nobody said anything about halo 3 odst plus capcom said that the players who bought sf4 will get an extra bonus and this aint even full priced. damn xbots

I am very excited about this. After losing my unlocked-everything SFIV save, I could not bring myself to do it all again... This gives me a good reason, as it is stand-alone!

Wow. I can't believe nearly all of you. You're accusing Capcom of milking a franchise with 1 iteration? Some of you need to grow up and realize that there are far worse examples of 'milking' than this, in fact, this isn't even milking. People are complaining about this when ODST just came out? A $60 game with a bogus campaign and a horde mode? Sorry, but if that's worth $60 and this is a 'rip off'....yeah, I'm not going to even go on.

I'm glad I didn't buy SF IV yet. Guess I'll be buying this with all the add-ons!

I was going to buy Street Fighter IV this year. But I'm guessing it'll just be better to wait for Super Street Fighter IV next year and just get the extra 8 characters or so. Besides, it isn't full-priced, so I'm sure it'll cost about the same as a new copy Street Fighter IV today (I think it's $39.95). I guess Spring 2010 is when I'll brawl with this series.

i guess this is no surprise, other than the fact that in the age of DLC they decide to make it a whole "new" game. todays lesson: dont buy a street fighter game again till Capcom has finished makin 12 editions of one game

This isn't championship edition or turbo (aka minor upgrades). It's Super edition, much like the jump from sf2 turbo to super street fighter ii. I wouldn't expect this generation of FPS gamers with their Halos and Call of Dooties to understand.

I guess I should have figured. I'll wait till the end of this generation to by Super Street Fighter IV Hyper Champion Turbo Edition.

Awesome SF4 was a great game and further improvements would be even better. glad to see it won't be a full priced game looks like Capcom didn't pull a Bungie with this one.

why are people whining, 8 new characters is pretty huge. Plus probably new levels/costumes/combos. Do you expect everything for free

I love when CAPCOM puts extra layers on their Street Fighter Cake! Makes it more delicious! But what is the going rate right now for (not fully priced) next-gen games? $30? $40?

I wasn't saying the two games should be compatible...I was saying that if they'd chosen to offer the new content as DLC downloads for the existing SFIV rather than a retail disc, whether the price adds up to the same or not, it wouldn't even be an issue. Of course, we'll see when the game is released just how drastic the online enhancements and balance tweaks are, and if they turn out to really change the game, then great. But the games are running on the same engine and contain much of the same content, so I will just go ahead and assume that whatever we see on SSFIV next year will have been possible on the original SFIV via DLC or mandatory update, but that Capcom looked at both delivery mediums and decided they would make more money at retail.

Why not sell it as both standalone and DLC? Charge $60 for the standalone and $20 for the upgrade. I know, it makes too much sense, never gonna happen..
