i've tried recreating this stage on Skate 3 but nothing's as good as the OG. I'm looking forward to this.

One big question I have is: Will some of the licensed music tracks used in the originals be returning? That would really make my childhood complete!

sounds pretty good! i will probably buy it. and i agree with gamerboy, the inclusion of updated mechanics from later releases (getting off your board and what-not) would be a great bonus.

If it's a remake using levels from the first two games, are they at least going to use the updated mechanics from more recent games? I mean, you gotta admit the later games had some great innovations, such as getting off you board, newer tricks such as wall jumping and spine transfers, etc. Of course, the levels may need to be modified to accomodate those additions since they are from older games, but I see no problem with it as long as they stay true to the first two games otherwise.

How much do you want to bet that in addition to the "select" THPS 1+2 levels, we're gonna see new ones based off of Call of Duty? I mean, I'm all for seeing this game come out (which is surprising for me to say regarding an Activision game nowadays), but that would be the most awkward surprise of 2012. : I

Hmm...sounds like Tony Hawk 2X to me, which I still have and I think it's backwards compatible anyway on 360. It's not a bad idea....but then again it's more of the same levels we played a hundred times years ago.

I like this approach. Maybe do another HD release with THPS 3 and 4 levels? Seems to be win-win for everyone.

Nice, seems like these major video gaming companies are finally listening to us, First Square-Enix, Then EA, now even activision is finding itself listening to the gamer, instead of saying it know what we want.

A year is a long time for Activision. They use to release a Tony Hawk game once a month until Call of Duty replaced it as their monthly release.

Is this a remake or are they just doing what was done with resident evil 4 ? I didnt understand it ery well.

If it's on Steam and has online multiplayer I'll buy it.

The first two games in the series were the best hands down, I will be looking for this collection to hit. I still play THPS 2 on PC fun as hell!

Yeah i have so many copies of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 and i am not dissing that game but why dont they create a new game off the same concepts of the first and second game. I bought Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2x which is basically what they are working on and mean while yes its awesome its in HD but again its the same game. Im really hoping this game pulls off and i hope its going to beat out Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2x which is my fav Tony Hawk game and i really need something new in that series.

At this point they should probably just do a 'THPS X' or something and do a re-imagining of all of the fan favorite levels/areas from THPS1-THUG2, with more detail, nostalgia nods, different time of day, subtle changes, weathering/weeds etc etc...

Hopefully it doesn't use Ride peripheral, Move, or Kinect.
