Are you talking about this MM92?
It's in the advanced editor, if so.

It does take longer to load. Hopefully it's fixed. And an option to use the old one would be nice_Sam_Yes the option would be very nice, and would save me a crap load of time on the guides.

Not sure if this was mentioned in the fast few posts so I'll post it again, sorry if it has.
When I'm pasting something I will occasionally get a message asking if it's ok to allow access to the clipboard. Is this a problem with the editor, or something to do with IE 7?
Personally, I have mixed feelings about the new text editor.
I had some problems pasting a text, for example, during my editing for an union post (ReviewSpotting). The text just wouldn't paste, as the editor would always accuse it of containing content that was not supported, even if it was just text. Other than that, the font editing is a little tricky, since it sometimes reverts changes to Arial and won't change it back to the font that was selected, even if you manually edit every single paragraph. Same goes with font body size.
Also, I kind of miss the 'line' feature that was in the old editor... you know, that horizontal line you can use to divide sections of text.
Relating back to the old problems I used to have while using FireFox, they sure have disappeared, for the most part. The centering tool is still a like tricky with this browser, but it's nothing I can't deal with a little bit of tinkering. :)
I have been waiting forever for an Opera compatible WYSIWYG Editor, huge thanks guys :oA2DThe last one worked if you set it to mask as IE under the network section of "edit site preferences", and it made no sense to me why it was being blocked since most of the features worked well. Things like smilies didn't, though, so it's nice that they do now :)
For issue 1, you can switch to advanced mode, which can be done under prefs>forums. There is a dropdown menu for "use WYSIWYG editor" that is set to "yes, standard". Change it to "yes, advanced".Two problems I've run in to, on top of the permission thing:

- The line option in the old version is not available here
- Default text size is extremely hard to read when typing a new message, it's ok when you post.
Thanks for the information.
I should of figured that out when I didn't have the table function :(.
Try pressing shift+insert instead, if it's the "paste from Word" popup you're getting. Thanks for the information.
I should of figured that out when I didn't have the table function :(.
Now if there is a way to get rid of the allow paste popup and they fix the default size issue, witout manually having to do it each time, I'll be perfectly happy with this editor.icytower38
Click here. That's right. It doesn't go anywhere. It lets you add links that don't go anywhere but you can't even tell there's a link at all in the text editor.
[QUOTE="orangeillini14"]OMG CHANGE THE PASTE FUNCTION NOW... I don't think I'm the only one but when I press ctrl+v it usually means that I'm using it for a short cut, but then when a screen pops up and asks me to paste it again, then press okay, it's just flat out annoying.TeivanI'm looking into a way to have it do the popup for the people that need the popup and not for those that don't. For most people FireFox gives a warning and doesn't allow the paste so for now that will have to be the default. sorry. Okay, this has been modified. If you do a ctrl-v in FireFox it will paste directly into the wysiwyg editor. If you want to paste from Word and not have it reject it, use the Paste From Word icon
The only major beef I have with it right now is that when you want to preview a blog post, the margins it uses for the preview aren't the same as they will be when the blog actually goes up. This is frustrating because when you're trying to properly place aligned images or format text in a certain way, you can't really preview what it will actually look like. Currently the preview option is really only useful for HTML error-checking, but not formatting.
I end up re-editing a post a few times over because I can't actually see how it will look on the page until it's submitted.
My two cents. Thanks!
I went to make a tread in my union and when I posted it something happend. For some reason when I press the enter botton to go to the next line it skips a line. For example:
I just pressed enter once and it skipped down to here. I tried everything and I can't figure it out. It started happing when ever the new version came out. What is wrong?
well that happened in the old editor version as well actually...it's simply because pressing enter or return adds a pair of paragraph tags in, to drop one line it'd have to be a line break (br) tag...which can still be entered...you just have to hold shift when you press enter/return...I went to make a tread in my union and when I posted it something happend. Teivan,
This is 1,000,000 times better then the old editor! Just being able to copy & paste from MS Word is a god send that has saved me from going from Word to Notepad to GS to make a post! Now with my increased productivity I can spam more boards and do so more often :twisted:Â
Its both. IE7 is the pop up maker but the editor makes it come up. Never was like that with the old editor. Not sure if this was mentioned in the fast few posts so I'll post it again, sorry if it has.

I like this new editor... and for those of you wondering how to center stuff (in your sig and whatnot), just use this:
sig content here
You'll have to click the "HTML" button in order to put it in, but it'll center everything without a problem. It just frustrates me that we can't use the "center" tag anymore...

I used to just push enter in the old version and it would make a line break. I would prefer it back how it was though, pushing enter twice when I need a new paragraph seems a little easier than pressing shift+enter when I just want a new line. But I'll survive now that I know how to do it.
What browser do you use? It's supposed to be a paragraph break, but in Firefox it would create a line break. That's an issue with the old editor, not the new one.I used to just push enter in the old version and it would make a line break.
