Suddenly today all my buttons for pop-up streaming events and videos don't work. It's like they're just dead and when I click on them nothing happens. I can go to the video archive and watch videos ok so I know it's not my player and I double-checked my Firefox settings and it still is set to allow Gamespot to initiate pop-ups so what's happening? After days of watching live events I suddenly find myself shut out while everybody else seems to be watching it with no problems.

I am unable to stream LIVE videos only. I can replay older ones just fine. This is at my work computer (lunch break, natch) but I have no problems at my home computer.

FireFox 2.0.0.6

Windows XP, SP2, updated through LiveUpdates

Windows Media Player 11 installed

Divx Codec installed

Extra .dlls for Firefox installed to plugin directory.

Have tried the work arounds of playing WMP files on other sites and then trying Gamespot again. No dice.

I always get all 3 portions of Live Broadcast for On the Spot loaded and can live chat or do the trivia quiz. But the video area stays with a black screen and then says "Connecting to Media" then "Stopped"

This is a very disappointing problem that seems very common and should be a priority to fix. One of my main reason for being a paid user instead of free user was the advertised ability to stream live videos.

I did try IE7 and got the same error message.

So...when I stream live video (such as On the Spot) it plays for a second then my computer locks and restarts. When windows is loaded I receive the message:

The driver for the display device was unable to complete a drawing operation. Please check with the device manufactuer for a driver update.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled flash and the driver for my graphics card is the latest update. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 6200.Has anybody seen this message before and know the solution to resolve this issue...it would be a huge help. Thanks alot guys.

A few days ago, I was able to play flash movies and view gifs and applications that use flash. However, after an automatic update this morning, I find I am no longer able to use the flash, with the exception of Youtube and Google. However, I can't seem to use Nintendo.com or Gamespot Video anymore. Not evensmashbros.com videos work anymore.I uninstalled the version I had to install latest version of Adobe Flash and rebooted and it still says "This content requires JavaScript and Macromedia Flash Player 7 or higher. Get Flash". I also have the latest version of Javascript. I tried changing the settings and it didn't work.
Any solutions? Please post multiple.
I am using Internet Explorer V6 on Windows XP.

In short, I am no longer able to use gamespot video despite having the required things. What should I do?

Hello. This thread has helped me before with the WMP not connecting and that worked, now I have another problem. Whenever I try to stream a video through firefox, an error occurs and has to shut down FF. This doesn't happen on other sites that uses WMP and I can get videos to stream on WMP from Gamespot with IE. I have installed the newest version of WMP, installed the plug in from the link, and the 2 other FF plugins. It still crashes when I try to stream with Firefox. Can anyone help?Homes225

I too am having this problem and it has been killing me! Any progress or anything?

It's weird. Yesterday I could watch any videos here but not anymore. Now I can only watch videos from users but that's it. So apparently the problem is not my computer...
