Thanks for posting about that "game" usagi.  I was thinking about importing it after seeing it on "On the Spot", but now that I know it's getting localized and will be superior, I will just wait. Domo.

Updated.

And I just added QuickSpot from Namco.  I thought this was going to make use of the PSP's beautiful screen, but instead I guess they are going to make use of the DS's wonderful stylus.  They show you a picture for a few seconds, then they show you the same picture slightly modified and you have to point out the differences.

I plan on playing this game sober and then playing drunk to see how differently I perform.  For Science of course.  For Science!

well, I'll add Radio Allergy sice it's the last (non-licesed) game comming out for the gamecube and also it's an upgraded port of a Japanese DC game called Radirgy Generic.

edit: it also has a PS2 sequel in japan.

if anyone cares the last games are TMNT and Meet the robinsons. the reason I edited the above post twice was glitchspot.

The good news is that I added Radio Allergy.  The bad news is  gamespot ate the rest of the post.  I tried to google cache the old thread, but it is gone.

So, I will re-update the thread later today or this week as I get time.

Not brand new but recent,

Obscure (Xbox), Haunting Ground (ps2), Fatal Frame 3 (ps2), Riviera (GBA), all the Shadow Hearts Games.

Obscure is becoming, well obscure. It's a really good SH clone (better than SH4 was). Despite the budget pricing of 19.99, I've already seen it selling for twice that. Haunting Ground is another good survival horror game a la Clock Tower with minimal action. Rule of Rose is kind of similar to it, though HG came first. FF3 just completely fell off the radar. I've been waiting for the XB version but it doesn't look like that's happening since it's been nearly 2 years. So now the survival horror collectors (myself included) are scrambling to find copies at less than full retail. It's gotten tough to find, especially for less than 50 USD new.

Atelier Iris 3: The Grand Phantasm is available for pre-order now. For those of you who don't know. The Atelier series is pretty popular in Japan. Of all the Atelier games only Atelier Iris 1 & 2 have made it outside of Japan.  There have been several games across multiple platforms.  With the exception of the the Atelier Iris games the series doesn't really focus on combat (which is the likely reason the other games haven't made it outside Japan).  Anyway, Atelier Iris 3 is available for preorder now in two flavors, the game with an artbook, and the game with an artbook and soundtrack.

It's official, teh Kingdom Under Fire titles for the XBox (The Crusaders and Heroes) are both now discontinued and worth as much used without a manual as they are brand spanking new.  Ie., they are sort of brand new buried treasure :P  They were from the start, really.

I guess I should add Surf's Up! for the GCN as it seems to now have the final GCN release date.

Not sure if this could count as buried treasure, seeing as how the game isn't even out yet.  But after seeing Ricardo play this game on "On the Spot" I can't wait for it to come out...

 Odin Sphere

I want to go back to the land of 2D bliss.

I've been waiting for this one for a while.  And Etrian Odyssey for DS, but I'm not going to add them until they come out.  New policy I made up.  If you do not subscribe to Play magazine they have a wonderful cover story on Odin Sphere.  This game is sure to be 1. Very Cool and 2. Triple in value over the years.

Penny Arcade recently did a strip on Odin Sphere, having some nice things to say about it.   In the daily news post, they linked to the Odin Sphere page on Atlus USA's webpage.  I decided to follow it since I hadn't seen the official page yet.  No dice.  Due to the increased traffic from Penny Arcade, Atlus USA's site was either down or running very slowly for the next few days!

Suffice to say, I expect demand for this game to increase accordingly.

And as well as Penny Arcade did in conveying how cool I think this game will be they did not mention that every thing in the game is hand-drawn.

I noticed the same thing.  I'd never seen Atlus' page down previously.

It's going to be a solid title. It might be the first wii gamne I pick up in ages.
