I traded in some DVDs and dupes tonight and used some of the credit for:
Impossamole, TG-16, v. fine, loose, R5, $13.25, FX Videogame Exchange

I basically go do my thrift rounds twice a week and I find at least 5-20+ items per visit. It amazes me that so much can be bought for so little. Trust me in that I pass on a bunch of stuff that is missing manuals or are in sub-par condition or I could easily be doubling that number of finds per visit.
Like I said in an earlier post it feels like I'm in a city full of gamers but next to no collectors and it shows in how much I can find in the local garage sales and thrift/charity stores. I don't know if living in Canada (thus commonwealth) makes any difference to the amount of items available to me but it seems that I find a healthy mix of U.S./Europe-made and published games. I also live in a extremely diverse cultural melting pot so I find random games from all over the world (most recently a bunch of Japanese only GB releases).
I basically buy everything that I want every time I go and for the most part the space that gets opened up with my purchases is usually filled with new items every time I return again. It is such a great area to be a game collector and I feel really fortunate to live here.

Sounds like collector's heaven.
All I'd say is to make the most of it... you never know when the competition will move in next door :P
As for me, I've just got some eBay winnings:
Alien 3 (MD) - cart and box, good condition
Lemmings (MD) - cart and box, good condition
Mega Bomberman (MD) - cart and box, very good condition
Micro Machines: Turbo Tournament 96 (MD) - cart and box, very good condition
Predator 2 (MD) - cart and box, good condition
Techno Clash (MD) - cart and box, very good condition
Virtua Racing (MD) - cart and box, good condition
£11 ish for the lot, shame they are missing the manuals but there wasn't enough time left on the auction to ask the seller to be more specific. So I took a chance... guess I was just unlucky this time. No matter, this is still a fine lot of games for a good price. I love Alien 3 and Virtua Racing is just spectacular for its age.
Starflight (MD) - complete, very good condition, £1.70
A fine science fiction game in the styIe of Elite with a dash of Star Control and lightly seasoned with Phantasy Star. Obviously a well-loved example too - there were about 12 sheets of old scribbled notes stuffed inside the case with the manual.
Spartan X (Famicom) - complete, very good condition, £3.70
One for my Jackie Chan collection. The Japanese release of Kung Fu which was promoted as a tie-in to the film Spartan X (a.k.a. Wheels on Meals). Aim of the game? Rescue girlfriend, hit people.
I also got one game from CeX:
Mega Man Network Transmission (GC) - complete, very good condition, £5
Starflight is a great game. It is one of the Genesis/MD games that made the transition from PC well. I always wished that Starflight 2 would have been released on Genesis also, but no dice. Whenever I'm scanning for minerals in Mass Effect 2, I get a little wistful for Starflight.Starflight (MD) - complete, very good condition, £1.70

You know, I bought a copy of Starflight (GEN) about a year ago, yet I have never played it. Sounds like maybe I should pop it in and check it out!

Well, I finally bought my first N64 today! I'd been putting it off for the last couple months, but I made a trade that includes 2 N64 games...so I figured it was about time I go and get one. Bought a used one with the booster pak, includes all hook-ups and 1 controller. I'm pretty happy! :D [I will list the 2 N64 games when they arrive in the mail next week]
But I did buy 1 N64 game today, as well as a couple complete Genesis games yesterday:
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64, used, loose, VG) $16
Superman (GEN, used, complete, VG) $5
Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures GEN, used, complete, VG+) $5 [Includes a hologram-type insert as the front cover. Never seen before. Will put a pic up by tomorrow on mt PB album.]
I also purchased a used Official Sega Saturn Arcade Racer Steering Wheel for $9 yesterday! Very cool. 8)

- FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup (X360) Used/Complete $6 ---- VidCycle (only two more US X360 launch titles left to acquire!)
- Tornado Outbreak (X360) Used/Complete $12 ---- VidCycle
- Rock Band Metal Track Pack (X360) New $13 ---- TRU
Some good pickups today, although new.
Singularity - Xbox 360 - $45 Used
Monster Hunter Tri - Wii - $40 Used
Sin and Punishment Star Successor - Wii - $FREE
The other day I also picked up
A Boy and His Blob - Wii - $15 New
Fat Princess Fistful of Cake - PSP - $10 New
First off, I need to correct my last post. I mentioned I had Starflight...well after looking for it, I was wrong. It is Star Control that I own. Although, after realizing this, I looked for and found a copy of Starflight at one of our local game shops...but they wanted $10 for it. It was loose and pretty rough...needless to say, I passed on that copy.
Is it tough to find, though? Should I go back and get it?

Last couple days:
Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage (N64, Used, Loose, G+) $10
Command & Conquer (N64, Used, Loose, VG) $4.50
Quest 64 (N64, Used, Loose, VG) $5
Andretti Racing (SAT, Used, Complete, VG) $3 [wanted another racing game to use the Arcade Racer with...which is a lot of fun btw!]

It is Star Control that I own.mijahi
Also an excellent game. Star Control II is amazing too, especially the souped-up fan release The Ur-Quan Masters.
I've also picked up some more games recently, including a couple of bundles on eBay:
16 Commodore 16/Plus 4 tapes - all complete in good condition, £2.30 for the lot
Games are: Airwolf 2, Booty Fingers Malone, Fury, Gun Law, Harvey Headbanger, Into the Deep, Kane, Mr Puniverse, Oblido, Powerball, Prospector Pete, Spiky Harold, Steve Davis Snooker, Torpedo Alley and Zolyx. Not a bad lot, and only a couple of dupes which I'll likely hold on to as these old tapes can be... unreliable.
SABA Videoplay Cart 2: Wüstenfuchs/Tontauben Schießen
SABA Videoplay Cart 7: Autorennen
SABA Videoplay Cart 12: Sonar-Pielung
SABA Videoplay Cart 19: Odyssee im Weltraum
These carts are for the German version of the Fairchild Channel F, the SABA Videoplay. The games are identical to US carts in every regard but obviously all the packaging and instructions are in German. It's been a while since high school German, but I think I've got Desert Fox/Clay Pigeon Shooting, Drag Racing, Sonar Search and something called Space Odyssey which, judging by the box art, is probably Lunar Landing. The carts are all boxed, complete in German instructions and are in very good condition. I bought them from a guy in Belgium; it's nice to see Channel F stuff popping up again. The price? A rather reasonable 99p.
I also got a couple more games from CeX:
Heroes of Might & Magic: Legend of the Dragonbone Staff (PS2) - complete in good condition, £1.50
Warriors of Might & Magic (PS2) - complete in fair condition, 80p
And my order from the Super Fighter Team finally arrived:
Legend of Wukong (MD/Gen) - brand spanking new, £34 shipped
Monkey! Such a shame I missed out on Beggar Prince though :(
That's me done for now, still got one eBay purchase to come in but that may take a while.
Have your pre-ordered Pier Solar? I am waiting not-so-patiently for it to be finished. And my order from the Super Fighter Team finally arrived:

Some great purchases in the last while! Congrats to all.
Yesterday I revisited my stomping grounds to see if they filled the spaces in that I created with my last trip. They did...

2. Combat (VG) $2
3. Stampede (VG) $2
4. Human Cannnonball (VG) $2
5. Kaboom! (VG) $2
6. Cosmic Ark (VG) $2

I've still got faith and my pre-order. It seems that the team is getting close, but I'd certainly like to get the game in my hands after all this wait.[QUOTE="totalgridlock"]Have your pre-ordered Pier Solar? Yeah, I've got the Japanese version on order. I was hoping to get hold of the Euro version, but last time I looked it was totally sold out :(
How something that isn't even close to being finished yet can be sold out is quite beyond me. They've even said that there will be no reprints! Seems a bit silly to me: if you want to get your game out there, surely you want to make it accessible to as many people as possible? If that means increasing your initial print run to meet pre-order demand AND let people who haven't preordered on a rumour to have a chance of playing what you've spent years and probably a lot of money working on, then that would make sense. Generally speaking, ordering more copies from whoever is manufacturing the carts etc. should decrease per unit cost to the Pier Solar team too, making everybody happy, no?
Oh well, I shouldn't grumble. At least I'm getting it. The *** package should look cool anyway 8)
Right, anyway, I've got some more games for my collection too.
Got a couple from Gamestation:
Alan Wake (X360) - new, £19.99
Broken Sword: The Angel of Death (PC) - complete in very good condition, 49p
And a couple from a charity shop:
King's Quest: Mask of Eternity (PC) - disc and case in good condition, £2
Return to Krondor (PC) - disc anc case in very good condition, £2
*Completely agrees with totalgridlock's Pier Solar rant!*
So last night, my family got together to celebrate all of our July B-days...5 in all. I didn't get much video game related stuff, but I did get 2 things. First, I got a Gift Card to one of my favorite used game shops: Vintage Stock. And second:
Tales of Destiny (PS, Used, Complete, VG)...the only defect I can find is one of those stupid little 'ring stickers' on the disc itself, around the center hole of the disc. Otherwise...everything looks great!

Someone went crazy at a local store the other day and I guess sold their awesome shooter collection. I wasn't able to talk the store down price wise, sadly.
All of the PS1 games, to my delight were in amazing shape, and not resurfaced.
Einhander $22.49
Thunderforce V $13.49
G-Darius $7.19
The Dreamcast games were resurfaced, and their resurfacing machine is not very good, or the employees are bad. But they still look above average, just some light scratches.
Bomberman Online $8.99
Gunbird 2 $13.49
Bangai-O $13.49
Mars Matrix $22.49
All the games were complete.

EXCELLENT HAUL!! Some very good and hard to find titles in there! Nicely done!!
After playing the DeathSpank demo last night...I had to make a Wal-mart run to buy a MSP card! It is so damn funny!
DeathSpank (XBLA) 1200msp
Also bought today:
Shadow Hearts: Covenant (PS2, Used, Complete, discs & manual are great, but the case and cover insert seem to have gotten wet at some point. Needs replaced) $20 [I now have all 3 Shadow Hearts titles...4 if you count Koudelka)
SkyGunner (PS2, Used, Disc only, VG) $9 - I've been looking for this Atlus title for awhile. Finally found a copy...unfortunately it's not complete :(
-
I also found complete and very good copies of Persona & Persona 2 (PS1) at the same shop that I bought the two PS2 games. They were $60 apiece. I about wet myself when I saw them and then immediately started hating myself for not having enough $$$ to buy them. I guarantee they'll be gone when I do get the cash and go back up there...what do ya want to bet?
-
Persona is the harder of the two to get, so I'd start with that one. Persona 2 got a reprint and has been easier to locate for less than $60, though a check of eBay just now revealed that it has appreciated some. After playing the DeathSpank demo last night...I had to make a Wal-mart run to buy a MSP card! For collecting I would go with the first because of the reprint of Persona 2. If you want them to play then I would get Persona for the PSP since it has the removed half of the game, improved graphics, and better translation.
