Gulp. Free games?!?! Doh, I missed the cuttoff date of August 11 by about 2 weeks.  I suppose this program is to reward those who purchased the system at the $250 price point so that they don't feel gipped about the the new $170 price point. Makes sense now that I think about it.

Thanks Twar........Had the games been a little less expensive, I would have bought more.  You just can't expect a video game store to give away Atari Jaguar, NeoGeo, NeoGeo CD, Odyssey 2 (at least the ones I need), WonderSwan Color, TurboGrafx-16, and Jaguar CD games.  I may appear to have gotten quite a bit.....but I left a lot of stuff behind......You should have seen me in the Game Trader store. I was like a kid in a candy shop but came out with only 3 games.....That was really a test...

I went out today and was shocked at the number of Intellivision games that I saw, but 8 of the 9 were duplicates of those I already had.  Still...

Thanks.  I really had to do quite a bit of negotiating to get Bubble Bobble Part 2, Dragon Warrior IV, and Shining the Holy Ark down to those prices.  They wouldn't have done that if they didn't know me as a repeat customer.  So far this year, I have spent over $700 at that location so they were willing to work with me.

that's always good, unfortunitely I don't have a local "classic" shop to frequent. there's a store that has a few odds and ends... but nothing great... I do mean a few too. less than a shelf worth.waflerevolution

I really am fortunate as there are some great vintage stores within a couple of hours of my house.  Hopefully some vintage stores will open up near you.  There is one unorthodox way to get a video game store to stock more vintage though.  Perhaps if you traded in your duplicate games, others would see the games on the shelves and trade their vintage games in as a result.  Maybe no vintage games are coming in because some don't realize that they are accepted due to the scant few that are available.  It may not work, but I thought I would mention that as an idea just in case.

Since it is a 10 on the rarity scale, I am fortunate to even have laid eyes on it.  Even so, I found it a bit difficult to lay that kind of money down on a single game.  Man, I really have this cheapskate thing down pat. :P

I am using rarityguide.com and converting the percentage given to a 1-10 scale. BB2 is a 91% which figures to be a low 10.

Guys......Don't hurl any foreign objects in my direction but.........DC games are rather common where I am.  Every game store that doesn't have "Stop" in it's name has some.  At one time or another this year I have seen all but a few of the DC titles.  That is why you guys have seen me buying so many DC games lately.  I just don't realize how fortunate I am until I hear from gamers that are having a hard time collecting.  I am sorry to hear that collecting DC games is so difficult.  :(

yea, try living in massachussetts where there aren't any alternatives to gamestop and no pawn shops and the good will stores almost NEVER have games... and even yard sales gouge prices on games  :(
