Thanks KG. Both my Sega and Nintendo lot purchases were great additions to my collections. Inserting each new game into my game lists made me realize how many games I don't have. You are correct, the price on those games were dream worthy. Regarding your seller that you might be dealing with, that is the kind of thing that you need once in a while to find those rarer titles. I imagine that you can't complete a collection without really paying big bucks as some titles are just literally impossible to find in the wild. I hope that deal works out for you. Some of your collections are getting close to completion so getting a lead that might help you get a few new games would be awesome. Best of luck with that!TwarBlackshire

It is good to hear that you are able to fill some gaps in the NES and Genesis libraries.  Not to sound overly poetic but.....I wish you the best in your quest. :)

As for my NES collection, I have been trying to get the harder to find games throughout my time of collecting them.  As a result, I have gotten quite a few of the rarer games but still have a way to go.  I have located a copy of Bubble Bobble 2.....but it is priced at $179.99....Sheesh!  Oddly enough though, I also have a surprising number of commons that I haven't gotten yet (due to bad labels).  LOL I still don't have games like Jaws, Rush 'n Attack, Predator, Bo Jackson Baseball, and NFL Football.

My Genesis collection is far from complete though.  I still lack over 500 titles! Yikes!

I just sent my list to the seller (at a cost of $1.88.....what a long list!) and will hopefully hear back from him soon.  The prospects look good right now.  He told me that he has thousands and thousands of games in his store.  I hope that he isn't exaggerating.  We'll have to see.....

True.  Hopefully the seller with whom I am currently in contact will be able to help out quite a bit.

@someNONSENSEand Dzjaansis: Nice finds. :)

I have also been busy adding games but will wait until I get the videos up before officially announcing them.

I went to go pick up my preorders from Gamestop; FF IV: The Complete Collection and SOCOM 4 super fancy bundle with the Move and gun, only to be told that they gave away my preorder.  What!  I even told the manager that I was going to be out of town and he said he would hold it.  The told me that they would scrounge up a copy somehow.   We shall see.   Needless to say I was not happy.

So I did pick up:

Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection (IV is one of my favorite FFs and this is easily the best version)

I also picked up Portal 2.  I'm hearing too much good about this game to let it go by.

well, I got it at gamestop... last one they had... I don't beleive there's too many 2 disc versions as most I find are the code version.it was "new" but opened... mine was for the 360.

the track packs have 200 achieve points per shot. I may or may not like all the songs but more reason to play music games still keeps me going. I own most of the stuff on the discs anyway... the codes in the manual allow for free exporting... and the fact they've dried up locally made me turn to ebay.

is steambot really that good? I won't have a 360 for several days, should I play that over all my other backlog?

I didn't know there was one.  I also just saw tonight that Borderlands is on the Platinum Hits list.  I think that it might have the most packaging variants of any 360 game I can name.

Got some nice stuff tonight from FX Videogame Exchange:

  • Disney's Pinocchio, GEN, v. fine, CIB, R5, $8.95
  • Operation Europe, GEN, v. fine, CIB, R6, $13.45
  • Outlander, GEN, n. mint, CIB, R5, $8.05
  • Pirates! Gold, GEN, n. mint, CIB w/map, R3, $17.95, UPGRADE
  • Breath of Fire, SNES, n. mint, CIB w/map & chart, R3, $22.45, UPGRADE
  • Drakkhen, SNES, n. mint, CIB, R1, $4.45, UPGRADE
  • Dark Wizard, Sega CD, n. mint, CIB, R4, $11.45, UPGRADE
  • Double Deal: Prime and Microcosm, Sega CD, n. mint, CIB, R3, $17.95
  • Iron Helix, Sega CD, n. mint, CIB, R3, $6.25
  • Third World War, Sega CD, n. mint, CIB, R4, $11.65
  • Crime Wave, SAT, n. mint, CIB, R3, $4.45
  • Mass Destruction, SAT, n. mint, CIB, R2, $8.95
  • SimCity 2000, SAT, n. mint, CIB, R2, $13.45

great buys though! target doesn't keep clearence items long, the move them to auction for Good Will and other charities after only a few days to a week.

Hmm, I may have to go searching for that disc-based GOTY Borderlands.  I have a GOTY edition but it's the DLC version and it's still in the shrinkwrap.

That's the second game now that I've seen mysteriously go from DL only to disc.  When I was in Cleveland I happened upon a UMD version of Patapon 2.  Never seen it before.  Amazon doesn't even list it and they list everything.

As for Steambot, well, it's unique.  Good is a subjective term.  I've not played through the whole game or anything so I really don't feel qualified to pass judgement but I do remember enjoying what I played.

I'm hearing too much good about this game to let it go by.

waflerevolution

I'm still bitter about the portal craze... the only game I know of to recieve praise for things other games recieve hate for. I know... it's very judgemental and short-sighted of me... but so what? I played it all the way through. I have my right to be bitter about things... don't I?

Kind of like how games like Limbo, Super Meat Boy, and Angry Birds have become so popular even though there have been similar or better games on newgrounds and armor games for free for years.

to answer both questions and statements...it's mostly the unjust fanboy hype that comes along with it... it's the same reason I'm bitter about GTA, Madden and Halo... among other big names... it's just silly seeing a game get high reviews for things other games get slammed on... or even more to the point... it's upsetting to see absurd fanboy-style over-popularity for a game that doesn't deserve any more than other games...

yes, games like Limbo, SMB, AB and the like are not too dissimilar from other games that got mega hate for things that the afore mentioned games get praised for. it's an odd society we live in people.

that's gamespot's ubsurd coding... you just have to deal with it, the staff can't fix it because CNET doesn't care about anything.

Thanks.  Fortunately the gaming store in which I bought them (Game Haven) was just trying to get rid of them.  From what I was told, the Game Gear games were getting so little attention that it was decided to put them in a box in the back to make room for other games.  This only assured them of getting even less attention and provided me with quite a few games that really hadn't been picked over.  You can imagine how elated I was when I found that all games were $1.99 unless marked otherwise!  Aladdin was $0.99 and Mortal Kombat was originally marked at $4.99 but I was given a discount since I bought so many games at once.

There is another Game Haven store in my area that I haven't checked.  I may have to go there tomorrow. :D

Popful Mail: $53 Comes with game in good condition, case, manual, no backart.

Sega Consoles and Games: $150.50

Includes

Sega Genesis (looks like Model 1)

Sega CD (Model 2)

Adapter for the two

Sega Saturn

Power Cables

Three Sega Genesis Controllers

Two Sega Saturn Controllers

Games With Cases not sure about instructions

 F22 Interceptor (Genesis)

Madden 95 (Genesis)

Starflight (Genesis)

Sewer Shark (CD) (just in a CD case, I assume he got pissed of and broke the real once since it is the only one without)

Virtua Fighter Remix (Saturn)

Pebble Beach Golf Links (Saturn)

NHL Powerplay 96 (Saturn)

Virtua Fighter 2 (Saturn)

NFL Quarterback Club 97 (Saturn)

Iron Storm (Saturn)

And the other sites are worthless. With all Gamespot's bugs, especially this new great one where it erases your message when you post and quotes a random person. None of them really should be winning anything. I just wanted the emblem and extra profile points. Gamespot is usually a well run site outside of it's forum errors and does a lot of different things I like so no reason to vote for anyone else, especially the Escapist just for Yahtzee, why don't they put up a quality site like Blistered Thumbs or Thatguywiththeglasses if crap like The Escapist is in the lead.

I've never seen it before...

Yes, it has retail packaging.  It was one of the original two dozen or so that came in cardboard boxes, and most of them are in shreds by now.  It's a black box; mine is kind of flattened.

Good snag on Popful Mail.  It's a fun game.  "Platforming RPG" is not a well-populated genre.

I found some more interesting bits tonight:

  • Lufia & the Fortress of Doom, SNES, v. fine, CIB with chart, R3, $31.45, FX VG Exchange, UPGRADE
  • Romance of the Three Kingdoms III, SNES, v. fine, CIB with poster, R4, $15.25, same
  • Shining Force CD, Sega CD, n. mint, CIB, R3, $62.95, same, DUPE
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, X360, v. fine, CIB, R0, $16.19, Gamestop
  • Kinect Sports, X360, v. fine, CIB, R0, $15, pawn shop
  • Medal of Honor LE, X360, v. fine, CIB, R0, $15, pawn shop
  • Motionsports: Play for Real, X360, n. mint, CIB, R0, $15, pawn shop
  • Trinity Universe, PS3, n. mint, CIB, R0, $24.29, Gamestop

way to go man! good stuff for less!

@leg, I stopped caring about the profile crap when GS was first destroyed by CNET. I agree none of those sites deserve much credit... but GS does NOT deserve ANY support. Failure should never be rewarded.
