So I made the rounds today with my two $4 copies of Rogue Galaxy I got at Sears last week and completed the following transactions:
$4 -> Rogue Galaxy -> $20 Walmart gift card ->Patapon (PSP)
$4 -> Rogue Galaxy -> $37 Best Buy gift card ->Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles (PSP) (and $5 left over)
I also picked this up at Walmart:
Kessen III (PS2) - $10
And THANK YOU Wafle for suggesting I give Best Buy a try.
I also saw (but did not pickup) Blokus Portable: Steambot Championship (PSP) at Best Buy, which is awesome, because the Japanese demo I have on my PSP of that game is a lot of fun. And it features the characters from Steambot Chronicles (PS2). But, dear lord, the cover art for Blokus is horrible. I'll definately get it when the price drops though.

I had no idea that game existed. How odd.
I have to finish Steambot Chronicles. I can't decide whether or not to join the bad guys. What were they called again?
But instead of playing the game twice to explore both options, I just decided to quit. Sigh.
Very big lot today, got them from this store I found online: http://www.retrogames.com.au/

Yeah. One nice thing about working at Gamestop is that if I find an original case, I can swap the rental one with it.
I picked up 4 games today, three of which were free!
without instruction book, $10
complete, free as a gift from the manager of Hollywood Video.
in rental case, free due to it being unsellable. There is a bit of plastic missing from the middle of the disc, so it might not work, but if it doesn't, no big deal.
in rental case, free due to it being unsellable. There are some surface scratches on the top of the disc, but once again, I figure I'd give it a shot. If it doesn't work, no big deal.
I also added:
in rental case to my hold shelf over there, because the trade in value is $11, so I'll make a decent profit later on.
I also found an original case for:
and will probably pay $20 for a copy of:
in rental box. Apparently, there is yet another copy of this at Hollywood, and one of my Gamestop managers has it on hold, so he told me I could buy it if I could basically give him what it's worth. Sounds good to me. Now I kinda want to play it...

given that you did well... I'd acctually prefer you didn't post the arts... it's slows down my already poopy load times..
Today, I picked up 5 games:
Great Creed, GB, $1.79
Mega Man Dr Wily's Revenge, GB, $9
Legend of the River King 2, GBC, $4.50
Cosmo Tank, GB $3.79
Street Fighter Alpha, GBC, $9
GAMECAMILLER
you collector you.
Good buys guys ^
I bought into the fever and paid $27 for a complete copy of:
Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast
Don't know how I missed that one the first time around. Probably because I reflexivly ignore anything relating to Star Wars.
aspro73
star wars games have a 90% good ratio... only a few stinkers... Demolition and MoT come to mind... Lucas Arts is good at making great games but never releases high quantities of non=hyped games... SWON, Gladius, A&D just to name a few... Jedi Academy is also pretty damn cool.

Sweet lordy guys, the last page was full of great stuff and great buys. Could March be our best month ever here for collectors at the CCU? it's not even halfway through yet. xD great posts all, especially Kressen 3 for ten smacks, and Nintendo's mass purchase.
Today I picked up:
Golf, GB, $2.70
F-1 Race, GB, $2.70
Trouballs, GBC, $2.70
Bomberman Quest, GBC, $7.50
Ultima Runes of Virtue II, GB, $3.50
I also got the whole set of Super mario Figures from gamestop for around 21 bucks. It includes Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Bullet Bill, Paragoomba, and Bobomb. It's pretty cool.GAMECAMILLER
Those things are cool. Me & my gf each got one for our dashboards.

Re: Best Buy
No arguing. They looked through the purchases on my Reward Zone card and found... something I must have bought for $39 before. Maybe I actually did get my copy of Rogue Galaxy there, but I forget. Walmart gave me a gift card for my first copy, no questions asked (after I said I didn't have a receipt), and Target (my second stop) told me no because they didn't have the game in their inventory anymore.
Re: Kessen
I believe the price cut was pretty recent, as the $30 price was still evident underneath a larger "Now $10" price. So you may want to check your local Wally World and see if they have any still in stock. I'd pick up a copy for ya, but I'm afraid I got the last one at my local store.

I just called Mick who put together the site (since his store is 20 minutes drive from where I am staying this month). After talking to him for 10 minutes I told him how I found the site (told him some guy from Melbourne just bought a bunch of stuff from him -- and he knew your order). He says he has about "100" Japanese NTSC games that are not on his site cause he doesn't know wht they are. They are also not in his store. But they are complete. I could not nail him down on a price, I should have gotten the BargainHunter in on a conference call.
But anyway, really nice guy.
..So now I'm thinking about offering $1,000 for these unseen complete JP Megadrive games. What do you guys think? They are complete.

it essentially breaks down to ten bucks a game - which, brought back to the states, value will increase and benefit you greatly so it's a bargain fur sure. Now gettign him to give it to you is the hard part. hopefully you can nail it, especially since he might be interested in getting rid of uneeded items. He might push you to pay a bit more, but use your best judgement.
If you do manage to get the games, the fun part will prolly be figuring out what the games are for sure (one of my fav parts of collecting is research).
Oh and a bit out of topic, but what do you think of me posting a bargain Hunting segment/feature (pretty much like the one I do for my blogs sometimes) retooled for the CCU? it's an idea that was suggested to me by a friend. basically, I give tips and advice on saving money on games. Might be useful especially for our newer collectors out there.

Yay for original GameBoy games! :)
I tell people it's like collecting cards, so compact but loads of fun. xD And surprisngly there are very few bad Gameboy games out there (GB, GBC, GBA), in the sense of things. I think out of all the games I've played for gameboys over the year, I think there's only been a handful that really were "bad" or really true stinkers (though a lot huddle around the average area).Oh and a bit out of topic, but what do you think of me posting a bargain Hunting segment/feature (pretty much like the one I do for my blogs sometimes) retooled for the CCU? it's an idea that was suggested to me by a friend. basically, I give tips and advice on saving money on games. That would be cool, since you are basically an expert at bargin hunting.
I did add some additional games to my hold shelf at Hollywood. The total now comes to 27 games, and I'll probably wait until they come down to $2 a game. Here's what I added today:
Call of Cthulhu (Xbox) in rental box
Combat Elite: WWII Paratroopers (PS2) Complete
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (Xbox) in rental box
Mercenaries (PS2) in rental box
Sly 2: Band of Thieves (PS2) New, sealed
Sly 3: Honor Amongst Thieves (PS2) in rental box
I considered adding a copy of:
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow (PS2) New, sealed
to my shelf, but I wasn't sure. I also convinced my manager who has the last copy of Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis to let me buy it, if I agree to pay him $10 extra. I'll probably head back again tomorrow to see if there was any more good ones that I missed as well as head to Gamestop to pick up my pre-order of:
Condemned 2: Bloodshot (X360) New
If Courtney is the expert, then what am I, Ninty, or half of the rest of us?! I mean no offense, but let's get serious, you're no more of a "Bargain Hunter" than a good chunk of the other CCU members, it's just that we don't display the words prominently in our signatures.
Also, if one were inclined to read old posts, I think that we've addressed the issue of buying tips once or twice before.

Notise I said an expert. I didn't discredit the rest of us, but it would be cool for all the noobie collectors if someone, or a committee of someones wrote up a bargin hunter tip guide. I'd be willing to contribute.

he's not better at bargin hunting... maybe better thn the average person who only buys new games at one place... but everyone in here (this union) seeks the cheapest bang for their buck. I've beaten Camillers prics a heafty number of times...

Why?
I hate agreeing with a stupid statement without any reason but why not just buy a hard copy for the PS2, Xbox or GCN? if your Wii dies, so does your over-priced download.
