I hadn't used Google spreadsheets before, but have uploaded it there as well. Upload and conversion didn't recognise all of the Excel features, but I've re-setup the drop down lists, so it should work the same as before. Has the advantage that you don't need to have Excel to view it - all handled by Google.  First shared doc, so not certain I have the sharing settings correct, but here is the link to it:

Let me know if that gives the access you require. I have set it to view only. Presumably that allows you to play around with the figures and drop downs to see results, but just won't save edit changes.  I don't want to set totally open write access to the link, as anyone could access via the link, but if you want write access and have a Google Docs account, send me a PM here with your email and I can see about adding you to the permissions.

With regards to points for teams and chosen drivers, does the chosen driver effectively score twice for you?Avenger1324

So as an example if Vettel wins and Webber finishes 5th:

Red Bull choice scores you 35 (25 + 10 )

Choosing Vettel would give you 60 (35 + 25)

Choosing Webber would give you 45 (35 + 10)Avenger1324

Other factors such as places gained would only be for your chosen driver, and not part of the team score, but podium points appear to score twice - is that right?Avenger1324

Another clarification:

Points gained from finishing higher than the start grid

does this apply to those that fail to finish?  So Liuzzi starts 24th, and is the 4th retirement from the race, so officially ends up with 21st position.  Do we award him 0 gain, or 9 points for the 3 places he finished higher?

For what I'm working on I've assumed he scores no points from the gain as he failed to finish.Avenger1324

By the way, loving the spreadsheet - just one question, does it add the Team and Driver scores together (the two columns highlighted in bold)? Because if so, Any DNF/DNQ penalties are only applied once - it appears as if the penalties are applied twice in your spreadsheet. Also, if there is a tie for best/worst constructor, I have awarded points to all teams that fit in the category (So if Red Bull finished 1st and 4th, and McLaren 2nd and 3rd, both teams would be best constructor for having a total of 5).

Other than that, by the looks of it, it calculates everything perfectly. So all I'd have to do is copy & paste the results posted on the BBC F1 website?

Right, so here's where we stand:

Canada scores are sorted. My brain has gone in to meltdown mode for some reason and I can't calculate the overall scores properly. I shall do this when I wake up. Sorting them is actually taking some time, I'll talk to Avenger and see if I'm missing a trick which will make it faster, which is why the rest so far are unavailable. I do expect to have it all done well before Belgium though!

69ANT69 takes his first win of the season, beating championship leader Rayrota by a mere four points. In fact, the top 8 were all covered by less than 20 points!

Rayrota, after having the lead cut slowly but surely, opens himself up a bit of breathing space, now more than doubling his gap to mavediss to 23.5 points. SadPSPAddict drops two places from 4th to 6th, and SadPS3Addict and Bigcol1611 swap places down in 9th and 10th.

Rayrota still remains top of the championship, but the lead is cut slightly by mavediss down to 19.5 points. Despite the high score, Garfield360UK still loses third to tony205. The big winners of the weekend were Redders1989 and Avenger1324, who both climb two places to 5th and 6th respectively.

I... am honestly shocked. I never thought something like this could ever happen.

KimisApprentice, tony205 and wombat26 not only all tie for the win, but break the all-time highest ever score in a single round of the F1PU Predictions Championship, a record previously held by SadPSPAddict from the 2009 Brazilian GP. Even Avenger1324 broke the previous record, but it wasn't even enough.

Out of nowhere, the fight for the championship has become wide open. Rayrota extends his lead over mavediss to 32.5 points, but tony205 in third place, who was some 80 points down on mavediss in the previous round, is now only 20 points behind 2nd place!

Avenger1324 sneaks in to 5th, just ahead of Redders1989, whilst wombat26's record-breaking score can only push him up one place to 7th. SadPSPAddict sadly keeps sliding down the table to 8th, having lost four places in the past three races. XSamFisherX leapfrogs SadPS3Addict to 9th, whilst KimisApprentice's mega score shoots him up three places from 14th to 11th.

The fight is really growing strong now. Rayrota still sits pretty at the top, but it's a change for 2nd as tony205 absolutely barnstorms his way past mavediss, and is only 14.5 points away from the lead - just two races ago, he was almost 100 points behind!

Defending champion wombat26 jumps Redders1989 for 6th, and 69ANT69 jumps Racky_rules for 13th. Other than that, it's as you were in the standings.

Right at the summer break, big news as tony205, who has failed to score less than 119 points since the Spanish GP, has jumped Rayrota in to the lead of the 2011 Predictions Championship! tony205 sits atop the mountain with a 29.5 point cushion. Rayrota's battle with mavediss, however, still lingers on as  the man in 3rd sits only 20 points behind 2nd place.

Avenger1324 jumps Garfield360UK for 4th place, and KimisApprentice now gets himself in the top 10 at the expense of SadPS3Addict.

What will the rest of the season serve up for us?

I think i preferred life before the spreadsheet, at least i had time to recover from the previous disappointment rather than getting it all in one killer blow.

I feel like Fernando Alonso - missing at the start of the season but now scoring more than the rest ;) proud of my little romp of late.

For the record I missed the game 4 times this season and I'm about 500pts behind the leader - average score these last few races, about 120.... I COULD BE LEADING :O!

Yes, I do still lead the way for Career wins, with 8 (1 in '08, 6 in '09, and 1 in '10). mavediss, wombat26 and 69ANT69 are next up, all with 6 wins each.

I've added all the members of the Perfect Podium "20" Club to the records post - maybe it's not so exclusive, there's 11 members! (And, as of yet, no one's ever managed to get the perfect podium twice)

I had no idea I did so well in them races :lol:, I stand no chance of winning this year due to the amount of races I forgot to predict, but I'm pulling off a good run of form.

I'm going for records this season instead haha

69ANT69 has now won 4 of the last 6 races, taking victory in the Belgian GP - even without the need of having Michael Schumacher in his team, who on moves alone was worth 67 points!

With the large variance in scores, tony205 increased his lead in the title race to 92 points, over new 2nd place mavediss. Avenger1324 jumps in to third, ahead of former championship leader Rayrota, who has now dropped three places in the past two races. Defending champion wombat26 climbs in to the top 5 at the expense of Garfield360UK. KimisApprentice's strong form continues, climbing up to 8th place now, just 1.5 points ahead of SadPSPAddict. SadPS3Addict jumps in to the top 10 at the expense of XSamFisherX who failed to enter, and 69ANT69's win moves him up a place to 12th ahead of Bigcol1611.

mavediss becomes the 12th member of the "20" club, and the fourth this year. 69ANT69 has also moved in to 2nd place in the all-time record of race winners, just one behind Redders1989.

His fifth win of the season puts him joint top in the all-time record of career wins, tied with Redders1989 with 8 wins, and two wins clear of the next challenger for most wins this year.

tony205's championship lead has been cut slightly, now 90 points clear of Avenger1324 in second. Rayrota has jumped up in to third ahead of mavediss. As a result of his win, 69ANT69 now sits in the top 10, displacing SadPSPAddict.

No other movers, but the battle between 3rd, 4th and 5th is interesting - only 20 points separate the three of them with five races to go.
