Art direction.

What art direction has been most pleasing to you from Final Fantasy and what do you think of the look FFXIII has going for itself?

Hmmm... Are you referring to the graphics? I love the in-game graphics of FF1 and FF2 PSP. I also like FFX's. As for FMVs, I like FF9's.

If you're talking about the Amano vs. Nomura art style, sorry to differ to most of you, but I like Nomura's. :P 

I would have to say I liked FF X's the most. That game was pure beauty.

It's an artistic design choice. :x You can't use that as an argument. That's like hating on Okami's graphics because it was cel shaded. :x As for the belts and zippers, I call that 'lacking creativity'. :xGamer4Iife

There're not many belts and zippers in FF VII. Squall's the only one in VIII. Neither does have XII. Don't remember seeing many belts and zippers in the earliest games either :x

Cant argue with the logos Amano makes for FF though, their just awesome

I originally had the intention to use this, but the image was too large and I was too lazy to resize it. I don't think it makes that much difference, though. Compare this with what I posted, they're almost identical.

Youre still using artwork from Kingdom Hearts, knowing the game is based on a more simplistic style.

Still, its the truth, when it comes to characters, Nomura desings have anime look
