Final Fantasy VII or Final Fantasy VI

 Both games are considered to be classics and considered to be the Two of the best FF games ever made. Without those two games, the FF series wouldn't be as popular as it is today so

I love them both a lot, but... I'll go with Final Fantasy VI.

oh my days! no, the story in VII far eclipses VI, and VII is far better in nearly all aspects of the game, however i disagree that VII creates a more nostalgic feel, i believe VI does this far better...

I do not hate it, but people treat it like it is the greatest game ever. It's not. You sure you don't hate the game...cause it sounds like you really do. Either way, I agree that for it's time, FFVI had a great intro that made you want to jump right in the game. FFVII intro was enhance by the cinematic style that made it look so great. They both had great intro's, but seeing as I played FFVI first, it definitely had me drawn into the game. I can't wait to see how they take advantage of a 3-D presentation on the remake. Should make the story that much better.

Sorry, but I'm sticking with Final Fantasy VII to the end.

I did find VI interesting and I spent more than few hours with it, but still I wouldn't consider it as "one of the best" in the series. Simply no.

I'm actually surprised by the fact that are many more votes for VII than there are VI. Usually these threads end up having more people picking VI and saying how overrated VII is. :P

I for once agree with you. FFVII is a flawed game. But it doesn't deserve a 7. It's a way too influential game to get anything under 9 in most of the people's books. But yea FFVII isn't a "God" game or the perfect JRPG. I for one found it's materia system has shallow and uninteresting. It felt as if Square had slightly sacrificed it's depth to create a battle system which everyone would find appealing.

FFVI isn't any deeper than VII, you know. If anything, VII has more depth, since in VI you learn a spell and it stuck to a character, while in VII, the spells you learned stuck only with the materia, meaning that you would actually ahve to think and strategize who should have what materia.

I liked the materia system in that you still learn spells, is just that they don't remain restrained to a single character and can be shared between all characters.
