This just about does it for me and for a lot of folks. CNET turned Gamesopt into crap and it is really a shame that good people are the ones who feel the heat. Not like this clown who replaced Kasavin. Gamesopt had something unique but no longer.
R.I.P. GameSpot 2008
wow man, talk about corruption, all these mods leaving.Bauers-Twin...The heck? Since when was Alex a mod? :?
That was pretty much the last editor here that I could take seriously when it came to reviews, consistently. Couple that with the lame review system that's nowhere near as good as the old system, and I can't believe some people still act as if only Gamespot's opinion matters.
Let's face it. The site isn't what it used to be, and never will be. Videogames.com FTW.
The way he was keeping Vinny busy with the expletive bleeps on the last HotSpot did have that "you can't touch me anymore" feel to it...
[QUOTE="Kreatzion"]Damn this site is going the drain and it's doing it fast. Alex Navarro was actually my favorite person at GameSpot and now he's leaving. Ugh are we going to have to move to another site now folks?dvader654
No I think the ones that wanted to leave left already and those that are here now already accept that this site is a disaster but stay for the forums.
That about sums it up for me.

Me too. I'd have probably moved on to another site by now, except for I know too many people here now, and I really don't want to add another forum to browse at the moment.

Good, cause if we go through something like that again I will quit the internet.
Yup... that stuff was ugly. I'm here till they pull the plug on the servers or ban me.
Damn this is like Nora Dunn leaving SNL
Oh who am I kidding... the people on this forum are the only ones that really matter here
This was kind of a shocker, but at the same time, I'm not to surprised after all that's been going on.
And yeah, it sucks because Alex N would usually talk and post here with us like Grek K. use to.It sucks to see him go.
Well, I wish him the best wherever he goes next.
The most intelligent and eloquent reviewer on gamespot (and a plain fun guy to watch) is leaving. This speaks volumes about what this site has been reduced to.
Alex if you're reading this... all the best in whatever you choose to do in the future, thanks for the great reviews, your blog and other cool features. Thank you for championing games you truly believed in such as Zak & Wiki and being vocal about it. adios
aite so ive been pretty quiet about all the gs drama since u know it feels a lil nerdy for me to be buggin out about people leaving. alex n is prolly one of 4 reviewers that i enjoyed. with greg k and alex gone, brian ek and ryan davis are the only editors left that i trust. both of these guys review like 2 games a year between the 2 so i don't know wat to make of it. gs is still my site, but i don't know anyone any1 anymore. gs feels stranger with each news...
Umm, maybe Alex is tired of doing reviews, and his other duties here on Gamespot. He and Jeff spent many, many years on this. DO YOU expect Gamespot staff to be like robots, just sticking with one job for the rest of their life? Of course, they're humans who have different goals, and other stuff. Although, I'm very sad about this, and now I'll only use Gamespot as a forums site. Now Ryan Davis needs to go, and so Rich, Alex, Ryan Davis, and Jeff can make TIME TROTTERS! :D
Maybe what you say is true, and hopefully Alex will explain why he's leaving. Right now, everyone's going to assume that he's leaving because of Gerstmann-gate. Just look at the timing of his announcement, coupled with Frank Provo's resignation. In any case, I will miss Alex. He was the funniest editor on the site, and he's a man of his word.Umm, maybe Alex is tired of doing reviews, and his other duties here on Gamespot. He and Jeff spent many, many years on this.
