Or any games that even slightly scary?

I read a user comment on a review of Dead Space 2, and he said while he was really impressed with what the review said, he wouldnt get the game as he cant play any kind of scary game as he is too sqeamish

I thought this was strange that even a game as good a DS2 which isnt that scary would put people off because it has monsters and its dark

I lvoe horror games, outside of RPGs and action adventure they are my favorutie kind of gamebut anyone else just not play horror games??

I've tried a couple horror games, but I don't like getting the crap scared out of me. I don't really care for horror movies for the same reason.

I have played dead space , is scary idd but i thought doom 3 was scarier, resident evil 4 too. Resident evil 2 was even more scary. I still liked them and played though. Thief was also pretty scary . I think doom 3 in this line up was the scariest one and was pushing limits for me, more and i wouldn't have played it. I quit one of the silent hill series because i couldn't handle it anymore, call of cutulhu (or something like that) same reason. Way too scary games , i think there's some other too but can't really remember.

100% this. I'm paranoid enough anyway, I don't need to be even more influenced by horror games. :(

The games have to be well executed for me to enjoy them, like Bioshock. Oh, and I haven't played any Silent Hill or Resident Evil, other than the first Silent Hill, and the second and fourth Resident Evil. Horror games aren't my cup of tea.

I'm a big fan of Horror/Thriller games. Not just that because it's nerve-breaking, it's also rare. How many Horror/Thriller games are being released every year? I mean, these types of games should be given a little bit of appreciation. Not many companies or developers dares to make a Horror/Thriller game, because it's hard to pull a right-on-target Horror/Thriller game. Here are some of my favorite Horror/Thriller games:

1.) Silent Hill Series - I played ALL OF THEM and every one of them never let me down. Try playing it at dawn with all lights turned off.

2.) Resident Evil Series - Just like Silent Hill, I never look past on this series. I love the older series compared to the new ones, because the new ones felt like more Action-adventure than Horror/Thriller/Survival game.

3.) Alan Wake - Great game, lots of memorable moments in that game.

All horror games are just full of mutants, they just bore me. Some spikey arms, creepy babies and exploding zits. Nah....

I don't like romantic movies, and so I don't watch them.

Some people may be like me but with horror games/movies. What's so strange about that?

Horror is not my thing. I do not play horror games or watch horror movies. The only experience with horror games I have was with the original Resident Evil. I decided to check it out because of all the rave reviews it was receiving. I remember walking down this one long hallway and as I passed by a window a huge dog came plowing through it. After my heart started beating again I shut it off and never played another horror game again.

I used to not even come close to horror games, but then I played Dead Space. Changed my view on the genre quite a bit. I'm a lot more willing to play them now despite being scared out of my wits at time.

People had different tolerance borders, while some could be playing Amnesia and find it hardly scary at all someone else could consider Quake 2 as the scaries game ever made.

I don't. They generally either move too slow for me or just aren't scary. A good horror game shouldn't load you up with guns and ammo, when you're protected, the game is a lot less frightening. But, I generally don't like slow-paced games anyway

I don't play a lot of them, but not so much because they're scary, but because the setting is depressing and it makes me feel uncomfortable if I play them for too long. Most 'horror games' are actually games that just have a horror theme to spice up the core gameplay (FEAR 1 & 2), or games that don't have the sole intent to scare people, but do often scare people with the dark nature of the setting (Cryostasis, Stalker). Survival horror as a genre has never really been my think. I'm currently busy playing Amnesia, which is one of the few games in the genre I like, but the only other game I can think of is Silent Hill 3, which I thought was quite abysmal judging from what I've played.

Know more then a few people who does nto play Horror games, either due to the stress they invoke, or the shear amount of fear.

I suspect that All of us have certain genres we cant (or wont) get into.

I used to hate horror games a few years back.

Thought they looked boring..especially resident evil. Man I was wrong.

I've played most of the horror games out there now..definitly one of my favorite genres.

I play horror games a lot... Even though I don't find myself getting scared at all but more tensed I guess you can say... I still enjoy playing them. I do have a few friends who won't play horror games do to it's "Creepy" ambience.

Yeah, one of my friends isn't in to the whole "horror" genre. He doesn't like gore, albeit I don't enjoy guts and stuff, video game gore is a different matter. I know it isn't real, but I could understand why one wouldn't like it. Dead Space is scary, but not as scary as a scary movie, ya know? Haha

i played Bioshock 1 & 2, Dead Space and Resident Evil and enjoyedn them, I'm currently playing Alan Wake

It takes me forever to play horror games, the tension, i hate it, takes me a long time to get into a horror game but once a eventually do I enjoy it. If I were to buy or play a couple of games though horror genre would never fall into it

I don't play horror games. Don't like to be scared all the time. Sure, a few games have some scary moments or levels, but horror games keep it through the whole game which, i think, is a bad thig

I think there are quite a few people who won't play horror games or watch horror movies, just because they're afraid of the whole mental aspect of those movies. Some games and movies can get really mentally disturbing and just mind-bending, which can turn people off to playing it.

I know people that simply don't like the horror genre. I have someone in my family. They don't like to watch horror movies, so of course they don't want to play horror games. I guess there are three categories. People who simply don't like the genre, people who don't get scared, and people who like to get scared. Or at least that's how I'd explain it... Although I'm a mixture. I like playing horror games. But will you find me playing Dead Space 2 with drawn curtains, surround sound, and no one else in the apartment but me? No.

I love horror games, but I can understand why people get squeamish with Dead Space. The monsters are scary, there are gruesome deaths, and there are lots of dark places. You may not be prone to jumping like other people, but for those people who are, those ingredients make for a scary game they can't handle.

LOL that was pretty much my first and last forray into horror games as well.

I'm prone to nightmares, and I get jumpy/scared easily, so I pretty much avoid anything horror.
