Yup, all of my girlfriends have known and it was never an issue. It's just one of my many interests that keeps me busy outside of the relationship. If anything, my additiction to cars and motorcycles was more of an issue than anything else.
I don't see a reason why not to bring it up. I mean, imagine that the girl also turns out to be a gamer. You could then discuss why certain games suck or not. There are a lot of girl gamers out there. You just don't know.
I become friends with them, and leave it at that... I just let it come up casually, and not make it a big deal. Usually I make it into a joke or somethin'. They don't mind at all.
again this thread makes no sence, girls don't really have anything against gaming. Maybe when they like, young teens and are trying to be in the cool crowd, but these days gaming is fairly prevalent.
Bringing up the fact your a gamer, or worrying about it this much just seems wierd, like... nobody acctually cares.
