I've always been a gamer, though not as avid of one as I am today. That's all thanks to a game called Guardian's Crusade when I was younger. Chrono Cross too.

Final Fantasy VIII was my first game and it got me into RPGs.

Metal Gear Solid 2 was the game that got me into other genres though.

Virtua Fighter 2 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for Saturn got me into games. Sonic Adventure, Rayman 2, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six on Dreamcast got me obsessed.

It wasn't so much as the game that got me into gaming as it was just the first game I played. When I was 5 or something like that I played Super Mario 64 at my friends house and I didn't understand how it worked at all. I still remember it, it was the level with the sunken ship and I just kept jumping into the wall over and over again but for some reason I really liked it. Later on I learned how to play and got my own N64.

Well, it started with the putt-putt kiddie adventure games on Windows 98. Then I got a Super Nintendo and played Street Fighter and Mario Furiously. The genesis also had a bunch of games I played a lot. The game that started me into multi-player was BF1942 and Unreal Tournament 2k4. HL2 was the game that made me a "hardcore" gamer I am today. I started looking at video game forums, websites, publisher details, developer details, and all that stuff after playing HL2. I remember the times of buying games just by looking at the back of the box. I miss those floppy disks :(

back when i had my genesis i was only about 5 or 6 i was only a little bit more than a casual gamer, playing sonic, the shinobi (shadowdancer) series and stuff like that, but when i got my ps1, i was HOOKED, my first ps1 games were future cop LAPD and Crash Bandicoot, and i was in love with gaming right after that. i think i had over 100 something games for my ps1 back then.

Super Mario Bros was the first to really make me like games but I would say Mike Tyson's Punch Out was the one that really sealed it as one of my favorite hobbies.

Are talking about the Samplers that came bundled with the system? Because those were awesome! Some of the best demo discs ever for any system. It had like 30 playable demos on those things, and almost every one of them were of incredible games for the time.

Not gonna lie, I didn't get into gaming 'till the N64 came out. So it was Pokemon Stadium 2 or Smash Bros. :D
