GGD Lounge - Back To School Edition

Anyone play Folklore? I have it on a gamefly like service and I feel obligated to play it so I don't feel like I wasted money but I have 4 other games I'm in the middle of.F1Lengend

one of the radio stations in the 'burgh here had a resident "expert" get the new madden game, play it and give his thoughts. i didn't get a chance to hear it, but i get the feeling this "expert" wasn't exactly an expert lolstarwarsjunky

I'm glad to see someone looking out for things though. I haven't had time at all to be on the interwebs. Too much reading to do. I've got seven books to read this semester alongside my textbooks. This is the most reading I've ever had to do for school. It isn't too bad though. The books are interesting enough.

As a former mod, I'm with the other mods that shouldn't be blamed whatsoever. :P

September is not what I'm worried about. Only Dead Island and Gears Of War 3 are the only two games I'll be picking up, along with FIFA 2012. Just three games in that month. It's November that I'm worried about, because four games I haven't paid off yet will be available around that time and I have every intention of picking those up. Everything in October is just about paid for...I just gotta reserve Dark Souls and Rage in time to pick up their updated editions.

I'm taking it easy this year. I'm getting Dark Souls, Battlefield 3 and Skyrim and that is that. I want Arkham City, Uncharted 3 and the MGS HD collection, but I have no business spending money on them when I can easily get about 1,000 hours out of the games I am buying this year. I'll pick them up next summer or ask for one of them for Christmas or something.rragnaar

Is this Warhammer Space Marines game any good?

Thanks to Rag and the thread he made, that was enough to convince me in getting Dark Souls (although I'm sure I'm going to get my ass kicked big time in it), since I'm a sucker for knights and dragons in a fantasy setting. You mentioned Bodycount? I tried out the demo the other day and also found it to be highly unimpressive.

Gonna be light for me on the retail releases front -- Rayman: Origins and Uncharted 3 are all I'm really excited for. Most of what I'm looking forward to are digital releases (Burnout: Crash, Eufloria, PixelJunk: Sidescroller, etc).

Rayman Origins looks like a neat game to check out too, but I'll wait on that. While getting all of these games that I've listed in other threads will be nice, it's Assassin's Creed: Revelations and Saints Row: The Third I'm most excited for. Can't November come any quicker?

I got the names confused. I thought you were referring to Demons Souls. Anyway it is over an hour worth of goodness from Shunsuke Kida. It almost feels like a movie score to me.

So I downloaded the Space Marines Warhammer demo and played it. It feels, at least to me, like a third-person shooter/hack-n-slash type deal. Lots of enemies rushing at you and you have to either chop them down with your melee weapon or shoot them, one bullet at a time. I saw other weapons lying around, but it looks like I couldn't pick up and could use the initial weapon that could only let me shoot one bullet at a time, no rapid-fire of sorts. It felt a bit weird, but the more I played it, the more unimpressive I became with it. I'm thinking rental.
