[QUOTE="BranKetra"]No, it's possible. Look at marathoners. ChiliDragon
You only need to look at people who are over-weight and very out of shape and who then push themselves far too hard when they try to "change their life" to lose weight. Like I said, there's no such thing as too much if you do it right. all bets are off if you do it wrong though.

There is such a thing as working out too much imo. Sure, if you if do it right, you should be fine. Not everyone does.

Almost forgot. I know I said this before, but if anyone wants to play TF2 with me sometime, send me a PM. I'm getting better.

Well, I suppose we can always argue that if you let it take over your life and leave you alone and friendless with no other hobby, then you've over-done it. But that goes for anything we do in our spare time. ;) Mandatory disclaimer: Also, if anyone does too much exercise and gets in trouble because I said it's impossible, it's still your own fault. Personal responsibility and all that. :P

Whatever the reason, it's important that a person trusts himself, rather than letting their ego get the better of them. I know it sounds similar, but it's different. I'll leave it at that.

*tears meniscus* I blame you Chili! :x I don't agree with you Bran. You can never put a limit on how hard you can workout. Problems arise, like Chili said, when overweight people try to push it hard since they have weaker hearts than fit people and that causes them trouble. Another instance is when you start using steroids or anything dangerous like that and pushing too hard. But as for regular people who want to become really fit, there is really nothing dangerous about it unless you have an existing problem with your heart.

I know I said I was done, but... What aren't you agreeing with? I was pretty much saying the same thing as Chili, just without discounting that problems can arise for anyone. It sounds like you guys are saying "people can't mess up unless they overdo it during workouts." There are other factors. Not enough rest to recover, lacking nutrients, etc. If a person continually does it, they will eventually plateau. Heart problems or not. It would be surprising if they even got that far in a handicapped state. If that's what you meant, it's fine.

That's exactly what I meant. When I said "doing it wrong", I included just those factors you mentioned, and several others, like lack of sleep, not enough water, or a lack of familiarity with the body's early warning signs for exhaustion, and pretty much every other thing that can go wrong as well. So we are essentially agreeing with each other.

Cool. I don't mean to nitpick, but rest is when a person really recovers i.e. sleep, and water is an essential nutrient. So, it happened again. Anyway, with exhaustion, sometimes it's actually better to push beyond the limits. Stuff like assisted reps.

Absolutely. That's what a spotter is for. :) But just like there's two kinds of pain, there's two kinds of exhaustion. The kind you can push through is when the body tells you "I don't wanna!" and just whines. You ignore it, you keep working, and then the whining stops. The kind you should respect feels very different, and is another one of those warnings signs that you can learn to recognize if you pay close attention to how your body communicates.

Since the last job shut down and I got transferred, I now commute, unfortunately. :(

My xbox croaked last night, but before that I was playing a lot of From Dust and Fallout: New Vegas. :P

How have you been?

Lots of ups and downs for me lately. I'm definitely on a big upswing here in the last month or so though. I lost a really good friend of mine to cancer about two months ago. It was a horrible thing, but it did spur me on to making some progress in my life. I figure I've got to do something with whatever time I've got since he was robbed of that opportunity. I'm quitting my job here in a few weeks and I'm going back to school in hopes of becoming a history teacher. We finished his headstone last week and I think it turned out really good.

It is one of the last projects I needed to get done before feeling like I can quit without leaving a mess behind. Anyway, things are going much better now. I stopped driving my car about a month ago and have been riding my bike everywhere. Aside from a few near-death experiences, it has been great. I'm looking forward to getting back to school. Both my roommate and I are going to be unemployed for the foreseeable future and that should be a lot of fun.

That was a longer answer than I intended.:P

Student loans. I might do a big of design work for my old business so that they aren't screwed over and to help cover rent and health insurance. I'll get a part time job next year, but for now I want to hit school as hard as I can.

Why would we sue each other for making beer? No one else gets to drink it except for maybe his girlfriend.

The cardio workout was awesome today. Did cardio for 40 minutes then did abs for about 20 minutes. After that, I ran for a mile past my apartment and ran back up that huge hill. I feel like I could run for another 20 minutes or so. :|

Excluding certain areas, as much as I like FL, there aren't any hills here. I prefer TN's elevation. I plan on hiking some mountain ranges sometime soon.

Highest mountain peaks in FL:

Britton Hill:

Elevation(ft): 344
Elevation(m): 104.85

Besides that, there's one bridge that goes up 20-30 feet.

I think I'll start at the Appalachian Mts. They're the closest. I used to live in middle TN. They have some hills there, but it's mostly in the countryside.

Brewing takes more time than I thought. We bottled our beer last night and now it has to sit for two weeks and carbonate. For some reason, I was thinking it only took around two weeks total, but it is more like a month by the time it ferments and carbonates.

A little less than a gallon. We are looking at getting a 5 or 10 gallon setup for our next batch. Our first batch has about 5.5% alcohol, which is pretty average for a pale ale. We'd been hoping for more and I think we'll take some steps to make our next batch stronger.

When we emptied out the bucket that it fermented in, there was a bunch of cloudy asswater at the bottom. We bottled it just for fun and we are going to pay someone to drink it. I imagine that it is a very concentrated nasty version of our beer. I could send you some of that.:P
